But he’s always said if you’re gonna have an off night from 3 - do it before the NCAAs!Grayson plays to win
With a win, they'll get a 2 seed.I love the ACC. Only there can a team be ranked #6 in-conference, but be #5 or heavens #4, with a win, in the NCAA.
They are already a 2. With a win they may well pass XavierWith a win, they'll get a 2 seed.
I'm not buying this #1 seed talk for a second, but to be fair they tied for third and lost out on the tiebreakers to put them sixth.I love the ACC. Only there can a team be ranked #6 in-conference, but be #5 or heavens #4, with a win, in the NCAA.
B2B poor coaching seasons.Ugly ending but pretty result.
Duke could win the real tournament at this point, and their season would almost still be a disappointment
Not sure how you arrive at that. KenPom, Sagarin and BPI all have them Top 3 after the loss - i.e. a 1-seed.Should be a 3 seed, but pedigree BS will give them a 2.

There's no "pedigree BS" in any of those systems - only algorithms designed to predict future performance as accurately as possible. Pedigree gets you a higher seed when you win a conference tourney or regular season because the committee (probably rightly) wants to reward teams for those accomplishments. That's why Kansas will get a 1 seed despite being ranked No. 10, 7 and 8 to Duke's 3, 2 and 3.
So really it's pretty much the opposite of what you and the other haters claim.
I'd probably prefer Duke end up in Nashville anyway. Would work out best for everyone. Duke seems to lose when they play in the same sub-regional as UNC.I'd be pretty bummed if they ended up in Nashville and not Charlotte given their metrics, but it is what it is.
Fine. I apologise for calling you a hater. But how do you justify what you said? You imply that they earned a 3-seed slot but that pedigree moved them to a 2-seed. The independent metrics all have them as a top 3 team in the country (using slightly different algorithms) with KenPom having two of the 1 seeds deserving a 3 (KU ranked 9th) and a 4 (Xavier ranked 14th). Sagarin would have them as a 2 and 3 respectively.I'm a Duke fan.
Totally agree. It’s nice to see a bit more bench play too, with Bolden putting in some solid minutes. The big lineup with Delaurier playing the 3 has been quite interesting and could be an important addition to Duke’s game. Of course that could change against teams that have more size to match Carter and Bagley than Iona and URI.Duke up to 7th in kenpom defense and passed UVA for #2 overall.
Somehow this Duke team is flying completely under the radar. They are right there with Villanova as one of the best teams left in the country. They improved a lot this weekend IMO. Hard to remember a smoother opening weekend from the last 10 years.
Edit: the last time Duke won both opening weekend games by 20+ was 2004 - the year they lost to UConn in the Final Four. They beat Alabama State 96-61 and Seton Hall 90-62 that year.
Coach K doesn’t beat Big East teams in San Antonio...Duke up to 7th in kenpom defense and passed UVA for #2 overall.

Does Duke play the early or late final four game on Saturday? Is the UNC-CH game this Thursday or is it on Friday?
Agreed. I had heard rumors of Scheyer. Surprised Capel wasn't holding out for something a bit better (or waiting out K) given the current state of the Pitt program but he probably things he can do well there.Jeff Capel off to Pitt. That's rather surprising.
