Haha, true. But you know it's true. Not that different from a typical SRN post TBH.
Two real bad teams doing real bad things for 48 minutes. It was so bad that I found it wildly entertaining. I need a life.Pretty anti-climatic. Doncic goes for inefficient 21; Young goes for an inefficient 17 (although he got to the line a lot). Hawks win, both guys with some work to do.
That might be the most ridiculous single-game shooting display I've ever seen in my life. Some of Klay's heat checks are up there too (the 37-point quarter, the 60-point game, Game 6 against OKC with obv a lot more on the line), but this might top them all for the sheer distance of the shots. Steph made six threes from 29 feet and out last night, most of them off the dribble without his feet set. That's insane. Consistently nailing 30-foot pull-up jumpers is not a thing that is supposed to happen.UNREAL
I was at the game (missed the first five innings of the World Series) because I wanted to A. see Doncic and B. see the enhancements to the arena. Two real bad teams doing real bad things for 48 minutes. It was so bad that I found it wildly entertaining. I need a life.
Its really a gift from the basketball Gods (and I am not referring to Magic or Pelinka either)I still am in disbelief that in 2018, a team has LeBron, Javale McGee, Rondo and Lance Stephenson on the same team
If you're out of control you're not going to get the call. I see nothing wrong with that.Lance Stephenson just got his internal organs removed in a messy operation replete with bleeding arteries trying to go to the rim and go no call. I mean, its self inflicted but the inconsistency with which the refs call fouls for regular players versus stars makes what is otherwise a fun league tough to watch sometimes.
I saw him as under control but I am willing to reconsider upon watching a replay. To me, he posted up his man and tried to take it to the rim while he was being fouled hard. Were that LeBron or Westbrook or Harden or Curry/Durant, they get the call there. If you're out of control you're not going to get the call. I see nothing wrong with that.
I've been adamant since his UCLA days that mechanically he isn't nearly as flawed as people make his shot out to be. It is unorthodox however his elbow doesn't fly, his trajectory is good most of the time (he's inconsistent in this area), rotation is excellent, and his shot has a soft landing. Ball is shooting 3's at 40.7% on over 5 attempts per game this year.....his shooting is going to be fine now that the game is slowing down for him.Lonzo Brick. That release is as ugly as ever.
Fyi, the line moved from 238 during the day down to 235 by tip off so most still won with the Under and only those who got an awful number ended up with a push.Millsap looks washed up. Sad for the Nuggets. Would have been better off fouling LeBron instead of staring at LeBron dribbling the ball for 12 seconds before making Millsap look like he was stuck in quicksand.
Lakers 121
Nuggets 114
O/U was 238. Lakers went 2 for 4 from the line in the last 30 seconds, Jokic decides to box out instead of chasing an offensive rebound that goes right by him and out of bounds and the Nuggets miss a last second point blank bunny.
Adjusting to the Warriors culture quite well.LOL Boogie got tossed. He's not even active.
Minny has the potential to be a trainwreck with the internal issues they are experiencing. I have no idea why they didn't move Butler prior to the season as his situation is a cancer to that team (Butler's situation, not Butler the player).I suspect OKC and Minny will stay there. Westbrook will get better -- part of this is just him being rusty -- but that's a poorly constructed team in a conference -- really a league -- where the competition is just getting better and better. You see teams in the West like Portland and Denver and L.A. (the Lakers, though the Clippers a bit, too) whose level of play is markedly improved and OKC and their hero ball offense just seems like a recipe for stagnation. Here's a vote for Paul George quickly regretting re-upping there.
And, ya know, Boogie. Love ya...but give me a break. He just is who he is -- getting tossed while in street clothes is both insignificant and kind of funny, but also not a good sign that he'll ever be able to control himself and focus his talents.
When do the Hawks visit Oakland? Is there a cellar dweller team or coach that Kerr has a vendetta against? Too bad Trump didn't own a team that would definitely be the game.I’m just putting this into the universe.
I want to see Steph Curry go for 100 points in a game this season
I don't know who else has chimed in but I've had them in the low to mid-40's which would put them on the fence......and there will be several deserving teams left out. This is how I had it entering the season and the Thunder have kinda buried themselves already 4 games behind the Pelicans and 3 games behind the Blazers.Wait, the consensus is okc isnt making the playoffs? Seriously?
The offense was pretty damn good in the second half against OKC and in the first half especially tonight. Guys outside those 3 shot 34/64, Brown and Hayward looked better and Morris, Rozier and Theis were great off the bench. If I told you before the game that Kyrie, Horford, and Tatum would combine to shoot 5-22 for 13 points and would give you the Pistons +19 how much would you have bet?
For all the trouble our offense continues to have we don't stop getting after it defensively for 48 minutes.
Sure you can cherrypick stats of a certain group of players to mask the larger problem......but overall our offense was abysmal in 2 of our last 4 halves of basketball primarily due to the continued struggles of our best players. The offense was pretty damn good in the second half against OKC and in the first half especially tonight. Rudy Gay is quietly having a really big impact for that team. 15/8 on 55% shooting and hitting half his three's.The Lakers go down to San Antonio again, with DeRozan going for 30-12-8 with some big shots down the stretch. His domination of LeBron continues.
Western conference will be super interesting as I think all teams are trying right now and no team is devoid of NBA- level takent. PHO is terrible but even they have talent, (Ayton goes for 24 last night; note Booker did not play. And Josh Jackson had 8 points and 7 TOs)..I don't know who else has chimed in but I've had them in the low to mid-40's which would put them on the fence......and there will be several deserving teams left out. This is how I had it entering the season and the Thunder have kinda buried themselves already 4 games behind the Pelicans and 3 games behind the Blazers.
Golden State, Utah, Houston, and Denver in.
Phoenix, Memphis, Dallas, and Sacramento out.
New Orleans, LA Clippers, LA Lakers, Oklahoma City, Portland, Minnesota, and San Antonio fighting for 4 spots.
League average. The Lakers go down to San Antonio again, with DeRozan going for 30-12-8 with some big shots down the stretch. His domination of LeBron continues.
Is this really a thing? I am looking at their H2H stats, and Derozan has pretty much his career average playing against LebronHis domination of LeBron continues.
Yeah, I was surprised to read that comment as well. I had never noticed any special phenomenon during these matchups in the past.Is this really a thing? I am looking at their H2H stats, and Derozan has pretty much his career average playing against Lebron
Dan Gilbert's legacy in Cleveland would be akin to Ted Stepien's had it not been for LeBron. Of the Cavaliers last 10 non-LeBron seasons they have a combined record of 227-469 for a .326 winning pct during that time. Before firing Lue, they should have tried to trade him to Olympiakos for David Blatt.
I was joking; referencing the fact that LeBron has owned Toronto and DeRozan in the past; but DeRozan has won the last two matchups since he moved to San Antonio. Is this really a thing? I am looking at their H2H stats, and Derozan has pretty much his career average playing against Lebron
