Putting aside other issues and questions, how many minutes could Simmons possibly play per game at this point—15?

Cavs are 2-12 from deep. Kevin Love is 2-2.

They aren't making up this deficit if only Kevin Love can make shots.

Nobody Cares
Nobody can actually stop Durant. He’s too long and too good a shooter, and gets too good a whistle. Kyrie will quit like he did so shamefully in the Milwaukee series his last season in Boston. C's are gonna right that wrong, and it shall be glorious.

Haven’t followed Cavs much

who is injured besides Allen?
Sexton, their best scorer (or 2nd best), plus obviously the killer Rubio injury fairly early

Edit- also forgot Dean Wade, their 1st big off the bench. Plus Mobley might not be 100% back.
They got crushed by injuries.

The Cavs are playing scared. They were down nine, on a fast break, and idiot Levert threw the ball to a Net, and compounded the mistake by fouling Durant 90 feet from the basket. The Cavs had a chance to make this a tight game, and if Garland can get hot, probably have another run in them

Scoring on BK goes a long way to helping D up on them. CLE had a nice run going until dumb turnover by keeping Nets in the half court.

Celtics should have no trouble scoring with their offensive surge. Keeping turnovers down will be key. Limit the breakout frontrunning threes.

LOL, Drummond is having a campfire and roasting marshmallows in the lane, and Mobley gets hit with a 3 second violation at the 3.1 second mark.

Drummond having the confidence to try and throw a behind the back pass is....not a great sign for Cleveland.

Replace KD with Steph, Luka, Giannis, Jayson, etc and this would also be true though.
not at the same level. The Bucks or Celtics would roll the Cavs without their #1, the Nets would be toast. They are 100% dependent on KD, they have no real plan B because they don't play much in the way of team offense, and no team D at all

Yeah but those teams would still be doomed so it wouldn’t really matter if they can beat a 28-win team like this current version of the Cavs are right now.

Lauri has been getting bodied up and down the floor by guards all night. Embarrassing stuff, and for $17 mil!

I think the point was, KD can't miss any time... like he can't miss 3 games. Other teams can hold their own short term without their #1 early in the playoffs, the Nets can't. Luka might be the other one, but hard to say since they have a really good D.
If your star goes out long term... yeah you can't win consistently, but early rounds your star misses 4 games... you can win 1-3 of those. Nets without KD would be substantial underdogs to all 9 other teams in the East.

Garland 5-13 for 14 points, with 4 TOs and a minus 18. He needs to get warm, down 14.

Stop turning the ball over

I disagree with this. We have no chance vs Nets without Tatum, Dallas slim chance without Doncic vs Utah, same with no Curry vs Denver and vice versa no Jokic for Denver vs full Warrior team. No Embiid vs Toronto no chance either.

Garland is going to end up at less than 40 minutes, which is probably smart. At some point they'll probably give up on this game and make sure their guys aren't too tired to play 40-42 in the next one.
