In theory, but: I think he got it twice; and if he stopped short on the way to 2B, he definitely got it after he paused. This is actually an interesting call to me. It looks like he touches the base, then takes a small step back, then keeps running. Is it enough for them to say he was going back to first and then never touched it again?
Bit of a nicer ballpark than what the Rays play in too.Absolutely, this is great.
I think the goal is to make sure Game 3 doesn't happen, and going to Clase is justifiable, even as good as their bullpen is.Cleveland has a fantastic bullpen – don't like using Clase for 4 outs here.
Zach Britton strenuously objects to this commentCleveland has a fantastic bullpen – don't like using Clase for 4 outs here.
His last HR was about 10 days ago, also off Bieber in CLE.No fucking way. Siri? For real?
You know their personnel far better than any of us, but you need to lock in the win here if at all possible, a one run game in a best of three series, and worry about tomorrow tomorrow.Cleveland has a fantastic bullpen – don't like using Clase for 4 outs here.
You are going to LOVE the pitch clock.Hope all these series include games like this one. Two and a half hours is nice and tidy.
Love that all the runs today were driven in by guys named Jose, on HRs hit off guys named Shane.
My patience level will be tested and tempered at best.I can't believe we have to put up with Kay and ARod for a series.
The only unfortunate thing about it is it was the noon start game instead of one of the prime time games. Thing was over before kids on the east coast were even home from school.I'd be very comfortable with Karinchak getting out of the 8th there. If they're going to go far, they'll need to use a few relievers and I'd put Cleveland's pen against any other in baseball… but bottom line is it worked, because Clase was efficient enough to do it on 11 pitches. Now win tomorrow because I have alternate plans for Sunday afternoon.
MLB has to be thrilled with an exciting playoff game played in less than 2½ hours.
None of the playoff spots were decided late, everyone has their ace going today (or in STL's case, the guy they liked best for this matchup). What's with the lack of runs today? For one thing, Arenado was amazed he didn't hit one out just now in St. Louis. Wind blowing in. All four SPs so far have been very good, another reason.
Bieber was lights out today. Clase can't be hit. Mac was pretty solid, too. What's with the lack of runs today? For one thing, Arenado was amazed he didn't hit one out just now in St. Louis. Wind blowing in. All four SPs so far have been very good, another reason.

So Manoah gives up three in the first to Seattle. He's pretty dominating usually.Bieber was lights out today. Clase can't be hit. Mac was pretty solid, too.
In the 2nd game, the pitchers are barely being touched. Not just no runs. 4 hits total in the game in 7 innings.
Ha. I was thinking familiar to anyone who suffered through the Sox this year. But that works, too.Familiar Dombrowski bullpenning.
Jessica Mendoza.I tuned it late. Who is the female on the broadcast? Is it Alana Rizzo?
I recommend listening to him as if he is Charlie Brown’s teacher, the fewer words of his you try to process, the better off you’ll be.Did ARod just say that the Cards shouldnt use their closer because the Phillies have the top of the order up?
Statcast has his extension as 84th percentile, so he's certainly up there in terms of how close to the plate his release point is.David Robertson in for the Phil's. Kay says he's got the longest stride of any MLB pitcher (at 5'11"?). Now I'll be watching pitchers' stride lengths for a week.
