he really does, they were in it until he started doing his solo act
Whenever I hear the Pelicans discussed by national writers it’s amazing to me that McCollum isn’t immediately brought up as the piece that needs to be moved if they want to take the next step.

He’s a turnstile on defense, isn’t really a distributor and he’s getting old. They need to staple some picks to him and try to get a legitimate PG.

reggie seems to be surprised that teams sag off of Zion and he still scores all of his points in the paint?

If AD approached this game like he did the IST ones the Lakers would be up 25. He’s singlehandedly keeping the Pelicans in the game.

Isn't Zion out of bounds? He only got one foot in to re-establish. I thought you needed 2.

Lakers have been playing great since Rui returned but tonight they took their defense to another level during that 2Q. They showed us this during the IST. Do they play Denver with a win tonight? That is like a nightmare for the Nuggets.
They do play Denver, but do you really think they're a nightmare for Denver? My sense is the Lakers are a good match-up for Denver -- Lakers have no answer for Jokic (not that anyone else does) or Murray (unless Vincent can add something the Lakers haven't had before).
Aside from one that Zion should have gone to the line for there any foul on NO that shouldn’t have been called? Lakers are doing what they do when it matters in gaining angles and drawing contact for the foul.
I enjoy this site and most of you all know more basketball than I do. But the most boring thing anytime the Lakers are playing is the constant baseless kvetching about LeBron and about the Lakers fouling. Absolutely zero substance on either count.

no one can stop jokic but the lakers seemed to find some success last year with AD playing someone else and roaming to bother his shots near the rim. ad is maybe the ideal defensive big man to have against jokic

Don't wanna foul with .4 left and them inbounding under their own basket? Brilliant!

Reggie: “Don’t want to foul here!”
…..the lakers are inbounding the ball with 0.4 seconds left on the far side of the court

Murphy didn't know shit. The bench was screaming at him about the 2 for 1. He was dribbling the ball up pretty slowly until they clued him in.

Feel like NOP could be really good if they didn't have most of their money tied up in CJ who is washed from his already wildly overrated sub All-Star level play, and Brandon Ingram who seems to have that "makes his teams worse while getting his" gene.

Yes absolutely. AD and Rui matchup w Jokic about as well as anyone, they still have LeBron and despite what people like to say around here this is still a real real good team when the games matters.

Kevin Harlan: “That’s the second time he’s turned his ankle tonight!”

Wife: “He should get better shoes.”

Kind of amazing that Zion can still get to the rim on Davis with Davis playing so far off him.

who knew Zion could play defense? On Lebron, of all people?
It’s funny because when he played at Duke he was a good defender. I don’t know what happened when he got to the NBA but he has the ability to do it

LeBron tried to make a dagger 3 with an 11 point lead, and then just tried to take Zion by himself. Neither worked out well.

But he'll probably make the dagger at some point.

He was young, most young guys aren't good defenders... add in constant injury and (related) weight/conditioning issues, sprinkle in teammates who didn't give a shit on that end.....

Zion is maybe my favorite player (non-Celtics division) to watch behind Jokic. This absolute gigantic human being who can bring the ball up the floor, make great passes and throttle the rim

This has been an impressive display of guys whose reps wildly outpace what they give you in meaningful games.... CJ, BI, AD... just the creme de la creme of rep over game guys

LeBron can’t back lil guy down??
He's 40 and playing every minute dragging a bunch of bums and a co-star 10 years his junior who is terrified of the big lights... dude is tired.
Edit- you changed you post. Yeah he could probably have posted him, but general point still stands... he's just gassed.

The “defensive guys plus Zion show on offense” approach just seems better than the one way guys

Fascinating lineup by the Pelicans, wonder if they stick with it. Seems to be working well defensively.
