Internal vs. external locus of control, Doc. Reverse CBT at its finest. I'm sure being stepped over was incredibly traumatic.

Haven’t seen this posted yet but really glad we got to hear Doc’s perspective. Apparently the aggrieved whiner he is on the bench isn’t an act. Some absolutely hilariously stupid quotes from Glenn in this one.
Going to be a pleasure watching him throw his hands up, bitch and mean as the Celtics wipe the floor with his team of floppers

Claxton instigated a kick to his balls by stepping over Embiid. Okay, Doc. Whatever.

People like him seem to think that escalation is perfectly fine. Don’t look at me cross or I’ll break your windpipe. Hey, you had it coming.

Darius Garland has been an unmitigated disaster tonight. Sheesh.

“All NBA” (insert multiple eye rolls) Julius Randle hasn’t been much better but at least he’s coming back from injury

Don't know why, but suddenly feel like I'm back in college and Anthony Mason and Charles Oakley are on the MSG floor right now...

That was Cleveland’s largest loss of the season (previous 17) and amazingly the first time all season that a NBA team was held under 80, according to MSG.

Certainly, but he was also definitely hobbled for much of game 3. It's a real injury, and could be a big deal going forward.
Sixers were 11-5 this season without Embiid. They are more fun to watch because the tempo gets crazy with Maxey, Harris, Melton, Milton and Paul Reed pushing the pace. Harden’s passing skills complement this approach.

76ers are more of a team this season. Deeper. Embiid can dominate or drag his team down. I look forward to 48 minutes without him. But make no mistake, 76ers need him for Boston.

Funny how Philly ended up getting the easier first-round opponent!

Did Philly get the easier opponent, or did they actually try?

The Celtics 1st-half effort in game 3 would have had them in trouble against the Rockets.

Philly and Boston were in similar spots, up 2-0 vs inferior teams. The Sixers handled this challenging G3 spot on the road better then the Celtics but the Hawks also shot the lights out while the Nets didn’t. “It’s a make or miss league.”

Both teams were losing in the 4th, tied it. Hawks made some insane shots with less than 3 on the shot clock, while Philly barely won. Almost the same exact set up. And our star isn’t banged up to the point of missing a game…. Seems like a similar opponent set up.

I’m expecting the C’s in a rout in game 4 as they exploit some matchups a bit better, aren’t in foul trouble, and the Hawks don’t shoot 56% on FG/44% from 3.

76ers were terrible against Boston this season. Lucky to win one game. I am surprised they beat out the Cavs for fourth seed. Philly never does things easy. But somehow they got an easy opponent. If 76ers win today, they might get rusty sitting around waiting for Atlanta to cool off. They know all about the Hawks.

If it goes at all like past Embiid playoff runs, he will keep dealing with this indefinitely, be kind of limited, start to disappear as series go on, and have an excuse for yet another 2nd round exit.
The question is will Doc try to blame Claxton for this? Someone else? I’m not sure but I eagerly await who he shades his phony righteous indignation towards

Humans, myself included, need to emote when bad things happen. I always find a scapegoat, and I'm sure Doc will too.

Talked about the dirty little secret about Harden’s finishing ability inside the arc falling off the cliff this 2H of the season either here or in betting thread. On full display today.

not to mention Steve Kerr blaming Sabonis for also contributing to it…

The Nets are awful. I can’t believe that’s a playoff team let alone a 6 seed. What a clown show

That’s because this group of players isn’t. A different group of players was a 6 seed, they just happened to switch uniforms.

Yeah, since Durant got hurt they are 18-24. Over a full season that's 35 wins, which would put them in a tie for 11th with Indy and Washington. That sounds about right.

Nets: Weather looks better in Cancun than Philly on Monday, let’s get on the right flight out of here.

Much like the Simpsons aliens who reached the limits of what human probing could teach them, the Nets have fully explored the limits of what a Mikal Bridges-led offense can do.

It seems like Vaughn never changed the offense from when it was Kyrie/Durant. You can play ISO ball when you have those two, but ISO ball when your best Bridges, Dinwiddie and Cam Johnson is a recipe for the lottery.

I don’t think that’s the problem as all three players are at their best in isolation. The problem is that they are your Top-3 options. Ideally you’d want an elite scorer ahead of Bridges in the pecking order, Dinwiddie as your super-charged 6th man to exploit 2nd unit defenders and Johnson as a secondary scorer mixing in with both units. When these guys are going up against opposing starters it exposes them as not at that level…..and also means that inferior players are seeing minutes behind them.

There seems to always be that one commercial that makes me want to drive a Tungsten spike through my head during every NBA post-season. It is definitely the Amazon commercial this year. And we ain't even out of round 1.

Phoenix defense is not championship quality. Nobody can stay in front of Powell or Westbrook.

Not many teams can. Powell has become sneaky good at picking his spots off the dribble. It’s also….day game legs.

For me it’s that stupid fucking pick up game commercial. The Taylor Rooks “this could be the best pick up game in ever!” Line followed by the grandma shooting a jumper makes my blood boil

This game feels like it's set a record for number of fouls called on jump shots.

There was serious questions about whether or not Westbrook would find a home in the NBA and if it was a suicidal move to have him on the Clippers, and that was like, 7 weeks ago.
