Apologies because I'm gonna assume this has already been asked-and-answered 12 times in this thread and I'm too lazy to reread it all: what time are the Bears actually going on the clock with 1-1?

I don't need to see another 20 minutes of pregame rehashing everything I'm already sick of knowing. ["Quarterbacks are really important." "Harrison is a generational talent -- or maybe just the second or third best WR in the draft!" "Lots of OL going in Round 1" "The is the Pats first draft without Bill Belichick in a long time!"]

This article suggests that the clock starts at 8:02 ET and that the Bears will pick by 8:12.

All I know is we need more Cam Newton interviewing players. This is how it should be done. Him putting Nabors in his place after Nabors said he should be a 95 rating in Madden and Cam said as a rookie he should be a 75 which Nabors quickly agreed to was fantastic.

There is the whole late turning in the card third option.
"At the end of the night, when interviewed, Mayo said, 'I thought Jonathan was turning in the card. That fucker has been trying to run the team all winter anyway so I never thought they'd let me to do it.'"

As someone mentioned in the Maye thread, Rap said the Giants and Vikings are going to make a hard push when the Patriots are on the clock.

Five minutes later it was echoed by another reporter. Clearly both teams want the word out.

No matter what they ultimately do, in the lead up to the draft the Patriots played this perfectly.

Two hours away until the Pats pick (or trade). I need it to be over. If they don't come out of this first round with a QB, I'm going to puke.

The drafts have become such cringefests, I can't sit through them any more. I used to love the draft prior to 2010, it was such a fun day. One of the highlights of the sports year.

Just don’t get filched out of the likes of Drake Maye.

Three years after the Patriots used a first-round pick on Tom Brady’s potential successor, they’re are it again.

Per a league source, the current expectation is that the Patriots will sit tight at No. 3 and take North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye.

The Giants (at No. 6) and the Vikings (at No. 11) had been linked to a potential trade up to No. 3. The Patriots wanted a lot. While that could change in the next hour or so, the Patriots aren’t expected to get enough of an offer to trade the pick.

The challenge then will become getting Maye ready. They have Jacoby Brissett and Baily Zappe. Will Maye play right away or later?

not even with BB shooting the shit McAfee?
I mean the NFL production sucks. It's so scripted and awkward. Grateful to have other viewing options. Still miss the old days where it was one fantastic Saturday. Plus, I was awake when the first round ended. Screw the West coast and their time zone.

Well I’d be interested in the haul.
Imagine the cost would be #34, right?
Pats would probably need to know about the trade before the 34th pick, because it would have an impact on who they’d take there… but I’d doubt they’d trade 34

If I'm giving up #34, I want a guy that's under contract for more than a year. No thank you.

All the talk about the Pats moving out of 3 for the “right price” makes me concerned that the pats are really just trying to drive the price up and are not convinced Maye is the franchise QB

Also, one that’s not arguably the third best (and some may argue 4th) pass catcher on his team.

I don’t know if I see him as a #1. Clearly the 49ers don’t either. He’s in the Higgins tier of “guys that are solid #2’s but come with huge risk as a #1.”

Yeah, I wonder where the New England Patriots and their NFL leading cap space for 2024 and 2025 could possibly get money to pay a very good player from. You wouldn't even sniff a player of Aiyuk's caliber with #34 if he were under contract for 2+ years.

I would argue that one of the best draft day trades the Patriots ever made was with the 49ers for a guy that became expendable once the 49ers drafted over him. Niners drafted McGlinchey in the first round, and it made Trent Brown expendable, and the Patriots gave a third rounder for him (and might have gotten a pick back)? I think it was for one year and I don't think the Patriots win the Super Bowl without that trade. Of course, they are not exactly in GFIN mode this year.

Why is it so apparent? Could be like their 2024 third and a second or third next year or whatever.
because if you click on tweet there’s another tweet. If you don’t want spoilers, do a little work amigo.

Gotcha. I didn't click on the link.

EDIT: But the other link is from "Nick Cattles". Not sure how much faith I put in ol' Nick.

I think everything is going to be chalk, until pick 5, when the Chargers end up getting a huge ransom for their pick.

They did a bang up job in free agency, players were lining up to take their money. I'm sure Aiyuk is psyched about pairing up with Jacoby Brissett with no LT.
