Murphy had to underhand the toss quickly and not do a full-motion throw

Miami (oh, Miami!)
Well, he had to see if they’d make the team. This year that guy is Ceddanne.
Those guys were veteran break-glass replacements and/or the 25th man. Ceddanne is, perhaps, the starting CF. And he needs reps. I'm all for someone like Hamilton facing some ML pitchers also.

I had to check the lineups to make sure that the centerfielder was not Rafaela or Anthony, because that was a brutal play.

Oh, I totally agree. It represents a big step forward for the org that (with the prominent exception of Dalbec) the guys competing for spots are almost all actual prospects.

Sigh. Apparently there was some heads up baserunning by Devers and I have to rely on Flemming's play by play, when he'd much rather be talking about the business of baseball.

It's especially annoying when we don't even have pictures. Also, I haven't heard anything I don't already know about Boras, his clients, etc. I guess this conversation is for non-Soshers! Edit: this boring discussion of the uniforms is about to run me outside. And I was so determined to get the broadcast.....

Casually listening to the game on WEEI. Did Will Flemming just say one of the players had Schwetty balls (in reference to the Alec Baldwin SNL skit? and also in reference to the new thin, see through uniforms?) If so, Ewwww, and I'm glad I'm not watching

Ok, I figured it out, the Phillies have a player with the last name "Schweckie" (SP?) and the Phillies have another player with the last name "Ball". No Shit. By some miracle of spring training lineups, we now have Schweckie hitting before Ball in the lineup. Thus, "Schweckie Balls" Will and Sweet Lou are in midseason form.
