Is Bobby making a legit run at an opening day roster spot or does it belong to Cron?

Braves finally putting some pressure on Bello in the 4th. An Albies double after a long at bat, and the Harris pops what was actually a pretty good looking sinker into left field for a single. 1st and 3rd no outs.

Another single from Arcia, but a ground out to second for Kelenic ends the inning. Strong 4 innings of work for the newly minted millionaire.

Duran not stealing because it’s 9-0?
And it's spring. And he's coming off the toe surgery so why push it?

Then there's Cron, who is not assured of a spot, jogging down the line on a ball that maybe he can beat? I know he's no burner but with the way the Yankees have played defense today, why not try?

FIVE strong innings against the Braves (mostly) regulars for Bello now. During the day, no less. Very encouraging start. His sinker looks spectacular.

Sure, no reason to try to steal. I’ve noticed Duran didn’t come out of the box like a man leaving a burning house on his hits either. But once he got up to speed, look out.

Gosh, if I were Houck, I wouldn't be thrilled to see Joe Jacques coming in with my runners on bases.
Eh, it's meaningless and they saw what they needed to see from him today. Also need to see what Jaques can do with inherited runners.

Not a great start, that's for sure, with a wild pitch.

The given the cost, merch opportunities may have dried up? Just a guess. Not a huge fan of the white, front panel green hats.
Umpires wearing the same hats, seems to be an MLB thing now.

And I hate them, and love my kelly green throwback.

Since I am backing the cause of trying to get Bobby on the roster so he can make me miserable, does he get any extra credit for taking a legit # 1, Corbin Burnes deep yesterday and another long term ML guy in Reynaldo Lopez, also both righties, today. He is not mashing against 4A guys?

Followed up with a bloop single, a balk, an 2 K's. He throws 3/4, was hitting his spots for the most part, and looked filthy at times. Level of competition aside, his stuff looked very good. NESN showed Bailey paying pretty close attention from the dugout.

There's something about this Meidroth kid that makes me really hope he succeeds. It will probably need to be in another organization, sadly, but I really like the way he plays.
