Our garbage time unit seems to be dominating against other garbage units in general this year.

Are we at the point they should rest most of the starters in back-to-backs? I imagine they don't want to take the foot off the pedal just yet, but you really have a chance to be rested, healthy and have the 1 seed

Kyrie plays like total shit every time he’s back at the Garden now and I love it.
Scal and Mike said Kyrie has lost the last 10 straight games he has played against the Celtics. Would love to see him lose every single remaining game against the Celtics until he retires.

They’re starting to remind me of the Celtics of two years ago that beat the brakes off everyone in the second half. The only difference is these guys are doing it at three quarters speed while that team redlined every night down the stretch.

And hopefully one of their star's knees won't explode...

Grande said he hasn’t won in front of fans in Boston as an away player since the Cavs. Won one game during COVID with no fans in the building.

Came here to post the exact same sentiment.

That team was mega elite for a very brief stretch and depended on every piece operating at full capacity and going balls to the wall in a way opponents just couldn’t handle at a regular season speed. Getting by on talent and sheer effort.

There is an all-business feel to this team that they just haven’t had. In one offseason POBOBS somehow massively raised the team’s upside while reducing its variance. They are winning because they know the things they need to do to win.

Of course none of the above matters if they don’t finish the job.

That can't be right. Kyrie had 39 points for the Nets in a win in Game 4 of the first round of the 2021 playoffs. Maybe he was referring to regular season.

Warriors-Cavs-Nuggets-Suns this coming week. Probably the final stretch of games that will have some juice to them. Go balls to the wall this week then start strategically resting guys/reducing minutes.
Not on March 17. Some of us have tickets!

I think there may have been some single digit teams in the 60s.. I think EJ was asking if there had been any teams since then in the post I was responding to. It’s easier the farther you go back because fewer numbers are retired obviously. I wonder how much thought this team putting into having single digit numbers and if it had anything to do with Celtic pride in a way.

The Celtics have won 10 consecutive games. Their average margin of victory during the streak has been 19.1 points per game.
5th single-season 10+ game win streak, with an average victory margin of 19.1+ points in NBA history. It's also the 1st in Celtics history. The other four:

-MIL, Nov '73, +20.5, 10 games
-MIL, Jan '71, +20.2, 10
-CLE, Nov '08, +19.8, 11
-CHI, Nov '96, +19.2, 12

This team is just relentless. You can sit one of the Jays, one of White/Holiday, one of Porzingis/Horford, and the resulting lineup still gives the other team fits. There’s just no break.
Amen! I’d like to know what the C’s plus/minus is when at least 3 of the big 6 are on the court. Have no idea where to find that data.

Absolutely hilarious to me, given the talk of the last few weeks about the "MVP race" and Tatum's place in it, that Luka drops a 37 point triple double, is a -20 and his team gets crushed by 28.

Individual stats ain't shit!

Woke up and had the same thought this morning. Sweet triple dub bruh.

I will repeat, this is going down as the best Celtics team since 86.

He might not be statistically, but just from observation, Luka seems like the worst defender in the league. It’s an amazing combination of a lack of conditioning, effort, and I think athleticism. The last one seems so strange because of his incredible offensive skill, but on defense he looks like they threw a Rec League guy from the Y onto an NBA court.

NBA.com has 3-man lineup data - both +/- and NRtg - in its statistics package.

PBP.com (https://www.pbpstats.com/lineup-subunits/nba?LineupId=1627759-1628369-1628401-201950-204001&TeamId=1610612738&Season=2023-24&SeasonType=Regular+Season&SubUnitSize=3) can give you NRtg using up to five players.

From NBA.com, here's a snip with the top +/- among BOS's 3-man lineups. Interesting that Cookies + Cream + White is the top +/-.
