We might be better off putting out a couple of orange cones in Bruins sweaters on defense than some of these clods. Wotherspoon looked like a high schooler playing a pro there and Shattenkirk was anchored.

The Island
I’m imagining Craig Conroy sitting in his Saddledome office, watching the game and calling Sweeney like the banker from Deal or No Deal after every odd-man rush.

This one is on…everyone. Ullmark with a couple of terrible attempts, the defense looks like a beer league team, nobody can win a faceoff, and the first line looks mostly disinterested.

Gone are the days when in situations like this you could at least put out Willi Plett so he could ram someone’s head into the ice to make the audience feel just a little less sad.

Naive question, but I've wondered this about a few players over the years. If he has such good offensive skill and such poor defensive skill, then why isn't he a wing instead of a defenseman?
You know I never thought about this but its interesting -- he has good point skills (and could still play that as a forward), he can shoot, pass and stick handle, he can rush, and his experience as a D-man enables him to know how to muck in the corners. So why not try him as a forward? I honestly do not know, but I'm sure someone on this board could answer that in the nay or yay with more authority than me. I was but a failed goalie. Pretty bad, to be honest (unlike THE MORT!).

Isn't he a converted forward? Am I remembering that wrong? Could have sworn I read somewhere that Lohrei is a converted forward. Or I made that up in my head to justify just how horrible he is in his own zone. Haha

Gotta say this was a points streak in the most underwhelming way.

I don't think this team is as bad as it's been since the break, but they're certainly not as good as their PDO-fueled tear through the cupcake early season schedule. They strike me as one of those really annoying-to-play-against fringe playoff teams that can upset more fundamentally sound squads by virtue of cashing in their limited opportunities while their goalie(s) steal a couple of games. But ultimately I think the flaws are just too severe and numerous for them to go deep in the playoffs before they get utterly exposed.

At this moment I'm definitely in the "sell and build toward the future" camp.
