I think Marcus Stroman is my favorite Yankees pitcher right now. Maybe it's partly because he's got a bit of a scrappy little man vibe going on, but mostly because I think that dude loves to wear the pinstripes and is in the place he wants and needs to be. So you go Marcus. Sweep the leg.

Total number of ERs Stroman has allowed so far this year: 0 in 12 innings

Total number of ERs NY SPs have allowed in this series: 0 in 14 innings

Let's keep both of those pristine numbers intact, and continue the streak of NY winning every game they've scored in so far.

I freaking love how balanced this team is right now. Offense, defense, starting pitching, and bullpen. Solid across the board.

Please stay healthy guys.

I feel a little bad for Gleyber. Not because he isn’t leading off, but because it seems like he‘s been working hard on his plate discipline and seeing a lot of pitches, but just isn’t getting results. I hope he sticks with his current approach and it all works out.

He’s not really a leadoff hitter although he has worked some great ABs this year, but sometimes he puts the first pitch in play and his baserunning is, um, unconventional.

He's definitely more suited for middle, bottom middle of the lineup and I think that would help his numbers that he would want for free agency.

Also, I frankly forgot all about DJLM. Hopefully he can get healthy.

Stroman's control seems a little off, but the results are fine so far. Another chilly night maybe?

I like pitchers who can still get outs even when they don't have their best stuff or conditions are less than optimal.

Feels like 53 F currently at YS, so could be something to that.

Stroman gives up his first ER of the year on a 3-2 BB and two of the pokiest ground ball hits you'll ever see.

2nd game of the season was on apple...
The crazy thing about that Apple game (and presumably future ones too) is that if you went to start watching after it had already started, they showed you the score/inning on the entry page! Who wants that pushed at them?

Both pitchers over 80 pitches through 4, gonna need a big Luke Weaver performance to have a shot to come back.

OK here comes the rally, with Stanton putting one into orbit.

Stroman at 95 pitches after 5, Weathers at 94, probably both done.

I think they would bring in Scott but you can't bring in a lefty to pitch to Judge and Stanton.

Scott for Stanton, wow. Maybe he will try to get him to chase and go at Rizzo.

Soto had such amazing intent and execution on that swing, fun to watch. Then just a poor AB from Judge.

Miami so desperate for a win, Scott trying for a five out save.

Damn!

Up to Gleyber, very fitting.

I think he held up actually.
That's one of those that honestly I don't think that rule actually really explains. His bat went through the zone by a bit, but his wrists stopped at parallel rather than breaking. There's no consistency to that call ever, and I don't think there's a single standard on the answer.

I think Judge went far enough that it's called 60% against him, 40% for him in actual game situations, but it's just completely up to the discretion of the ump and there's no real true correct call. I've always found that odd.

So many low strikes called over the last few games. Really puts big guys like Judge at a disadvantage.

Oh well. You still have to adjust.

Rizzo got a bad one, but Judge's strikes were both legit. The pitcher knew he had him once he watched both strikes, there was no way he wouldn't expand the zone over the next 4 pitches.

115.7 mph on the Soto double, just checking back on that. That was as much as you could ambush a pitch, reminded me of Sheffield just ripping balls through space time

Volpe's got to get the out at first there.
I think he's got to go home there, right? i would have to watch that again but I think they had Anderson easy rounding third. You can't score from 2nd on a groundout to short without the fielder doing something dumb

I didn't see it but I assumed he didn't go until it was clear Volpe was going to first.

Man, Verdugo really giving Scott a hand there. Why make him work when you can swing at ball 3 when you're down 3 runs
