With one game in the books, it's clear what we believed 24 hours ago still rings true: the Boston Bruins, without two of their top three defensemen, without their next best defenseman for half of Game 1, without their second line center, and without a dickhead-run Twitter account, are superior to the Ottawa Senators.

Oh, they had their song and dance for a few minutes. The near-capacity crowd chanted a few times. Matt Borowiecki ran around kneeing and boarding people. Zach Smith practiced falling over. Dion Phaneuf targeted the smallest player on the ice with swear words. The Senators scored a crucial Shots on Goal victory in period 2. Derick Brassard even thought about going to the dirty areas of the ice. Ultimately though, the Senators lost, because they suck.

After all that, the city of Ottawa's pulse has returned to its resting 15 BPM. Their fans are confused and scared, blaming officiating in one breath while lamenting defensive zone giveaways with the next. Their ticket prices have tumbled another 8% since yesterday. Their mood is darker than the tinted windows on the cabaret below the Glue Pot Pub.

Their descent into the spiral of nancydom started last night. Win on Saturday and FL4Wttawa burns.

Cassidy says Krejci will not play tomorrow. Colin Miller gave it a go today but didn't feel well. Morrow will play if Miller can't go tomorrow.

For what it's worth, NHL App via NHL.tv worked FL4WL3SSly for Game 1. I appreciate everyone's advice and suggestions.

Game 2 will be at 9pm tomorrow after a day trip to Venice. I will be watching.

Morrow will probably get the same 5 minutes of ice time cmiller did in game 1.

2-0 on the road with this lineup would be a goddamn miracle.

Things have definitely been more frantic defensively than Game 1. Ottawa is getting extended shifts in the Bruins' zone and clearances are coming less easily than before.
