I'm guessing (hoping?) calf strain. Problem with that is it exposes the achilles to injury until fully healed. They need to win this game, take care of business at home and get him some time off.

Yeah, there was no reason to force Porzingis to come out, he looked like he rolled his ankle a little and was working it out, happens literally every couple of games with guys.

As to what that was when he came out... didn't look like an ankle, but could be anything from a cramp to a strain to an achilles tear, no real way to tell. Though he didn't go down, which makes me a bit more optimistic.

KP sure seemed like he thought it was bad. I know he's no doctor either, but it does not encourage me.

Man am I trying to think positive thoughts

Problem with that is we had the late starting series and 3 days off between games so the other series are a game ahead. Not much time between series.

They’re calling it “right calf tightness”. Doubtful to return.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but the Celtics with AL instead of KP are more able to lock down the Heat. Take a week off and heal up.
I don’t think that many would disagree that Horford is a better defender than Porzingis. He should take as much time as he needs to heal but hopefully it’s less than a month.

Need to play a lot better in the second half, this lead is a bit of a mirage. It’s all White.
Defense has been really good outside of some early casual closeouts (which Miami missed).

Also (and not directed at you bsb) can we stfu with injury doomsaying? Who cares how he reacted? How often do players limp off the court with glee?

The Heat are throwing up a lot of bricks: 3 of 16 three-point shots is a sorry display.

Yea they showed it a few times, he twisted his ankle the first time he grabbed his leg
Right but the second time wasn’t his ankle though. That was calf or Achilles. He was fine after the ankle turn then the non-contact pull up happened.

The only reason the Celtics look out of sorts is because every dickhead in a white jersey thinks he's Bill Laimbeer. And while the refs can't call all of them, they're calling enough to give Boston an 11 free throw advantage. Miami is not in control here.

This is a sincere question… when Miami goes unconscious from 3 I read a lot of “what can you do?” type comments. But now when they’re 3-16 they’ve been “held”.

So what is it? Do the Cs affect shooting, or is it all “make or miss”?

If it’s his calf, give him the rest of the series off and count your blessings. They could beat the Cavs without it him too, if need be. Rest until ECF.

I wasn't watching live. Some twitter replays showed a rolled ankle, which wouldn't be too bad assuming no fracture. We would mostly likely be OK if he's out 10-14 days.

Obviously a fracture, high grade calf strain, or Achilles injury would be no bueno.

He seemed pretty upset which isn't a great sign, let's hope he didn't feel something pop or snap. On the bright side, he did make it off on his own without going down right?

Calf is probably next series, too, but that should be ok, if it’s low grade.

If Boston is contesting the way they should be and the shots are going in, there is in fact nothing else we can do. But that's not what happened in Game 2 (or even last year) when it seemed like they couldn't miss.

If it's a calf strain you're probably looking at 1-2 weeks if it's mild, 3-6 if it's serious

Edit- Giannis has a calf strain and has been out 20 days as an example
