Dodgers are second best in MLB at drawing walks and you can really see the difference it makes tonight. Just puts more pressure on the other team’s defense and pitchers. With how fast things move with the pitch clock, I think it also has a cumulative pressure effect. It’s not the be all and end all of anything. OBP is OBP. But I think walks are a somewhat undervalued stat.

Red Sox are near the bottom of the league.

Then again, so are the Orioles, so what the fuck do I know?

Everything just feels like they are flying by thecseat of their pants. Batters swinging at the first pitch, or at 3-0 pitches. Fielders throwing balls all over the place. Bullpen management that makes no sense or is completely reactionary.
Sometimes it seems like the bullpen is mapped out well in advance and they won’t deviate from it. Like, you end up with a fatigued Paxton facing McCormack because Murphy is relieving and that’s that. Seems like a Pivetta was the guy until the 8th, no matter.

They can't really run for Casas can they? Unless, I guess, they want to lose the DH

Casas and Story made him throw twicecas many pitches than it took for him to get 3 outs after going 3-0 to Devers.

Last inning was a fucking abomination.

They would keep the DH unless Casas stayed in the game and went to play the field, right?

It occurs to me that with both leagues going to the DH now, the whole “losing the DH” thing is going to be a weird rule anachronism in the future.

I tuned in a short time ago, but is the color guy the manager from 'Major League'? Voice sounds a bit monotone and smoke-ridden.

I was thinking Turner would go from DH to 1B, leaving the DH open. When they're both in the lineup, there's really no backup 1B

My guess is he assumed that Turner would take over at 1st

12 hits and two Dodger errors. Just can’t get the big hit. They are 5-10 w RISP and we are 0-7.
