Saw that coming. Nice job Dugie, first pitch swinging on a guy who can't throw strikes. Fuckity fuck.

I’m sorry, I’m not as stoned as usual, but did Verdugo just swing at the first pitch after watching the pitcher walk three guys in the inning? Did that just happen?

He swung at a pitch that couldn't have been more middle middle, the problem was he didn't do anything with it, not that he swung

Verdugo is such a fucking idiot. The guy walks Rafaela, Valdez, and McGuire, all in a row, and you see exactly one pitch? Absolutely insipid

Gameday has the pitch right down the middle. (There is a school of thought that a hitter *can* swing at the 1st pitch because the pitcher might be in a mood to groove one. Not watching so can't tell if the was the case.)

I said to myself, “ just be patient dugie, don’t be a dumbass and swing at the first pitch” Apparently the real Alex Verdugo has no such inner voice. If you’re gonna swing thee yah better get all of it. It was a good pitch to hit and he did nothing with it

Yeah, that's my thought. He might have gone the whole at bat never seeing a better pitch and most times putting it in play ties the game at a minimum. He just did the one thing you can't do.

The guy literally could not find the strike zone for the life of him. You let the first pitch go because he might not throw another strike, and then you've got a tie game

My expectations for this team have totally changed.

In April and May, I would think "I don't understand how they blew that one!"

Now I think, "I can totally understand how they blew that one"

You guys just don't understand: It turned out poorly, therefore the attempt was a mistake.
