I don't come round here much anymore but LIVED her 2003 to about 2010....then had a kid. Tears were flowing that was amazing. And for us as fans the period from 1967 for me to 2003 has been sent to the dustbin of history ALL of our lives changed permanently due to 2004. Hello to all hope all are well.

I loved seeing the montage, but I did not love the musical choice.
I felt hearing "this'll be the day that I die" juxtaposed with the loved ones who passed away and then with some kids suffering from cancer was a bit insensitive.
I would have loved some celebratory music and some audio from the games. But clearly, it worked for many here, so what do I know?
In any case, it was great to see the old heroes return.
Here's hoping the new heroes step up and start a nice homestand.
Go Sox.

That was simply beautifully done.

So many memories of my own struggles in 2004 and coming out of them ok, (just like the Sox ultimately did) My mom’s undying love of the Sox (she met Ted, Dom, Bobbie & Johnny Pesky in NYC in 1946). The song “you’ll be in my heart” is special to myself and my daughter as she sang it to me as a two year old when the Tarzan movie came out. (It made me think of Tim’s kids as little kids and now the challenges they are dealing with) Then later when my mom passed in 2020 of Covid and we couldn’t say goodbye, that song helped me get through.

Thanks RedSox for such a wonderful tribute to the 2004 team and to Tim. That was world class.

The song was by far the least interesting choice to me. I'm sure there are several dozen songs that would have worked as well if not better. It's a pretty cliche one for starters, and I know what you mean about the repeated "this'll be the day that I die."

Oddly I haven’t cried much about my mom even though she was my hero. Today a lot of pent up sadness at her loss and happiness in the blessing she was to me and so many others came gushing out.

Alright now I'm getting into the game.

Which one of you fuckers is going to be the first to talk about the exciting Orioles or how good they are going to be until 2029?

O"Neil is shaping up to be the kind of acquisition that can pretty much put a GM into the "good job " territory by itself.

You're a bit late:

After an excellent road trip we come home to bad injury news and face the best team in the league. Yuck.
6-4 on this homestand would put us at 13-7, which would be an excellent start if we could get there. Winning a game against the O's when they have Burnes on the hill would be a big step toward making that happen.
