How long Soria stays in the eighth-inning spot will be worth watchingI know it worked out there with Hochevar, but shouldn't you be bringing in Davis?
They're going to be bad this year.Next we'll see what not-traded-either James Shields can do for the Padres, who look ready to challenge the Phillies for the NL Least title.
Giancarlo Stanton might have set back our new rapprochement after that missile he just hit toward Cuba.
Insane ending. Hope someone posts video soon -- can't figure that out on mobile.
Was that traditional interference, not even really the new slide rule?
Alternatively "and he grabs Forsythe's foot (who was well clear of the direct path to the base) as he attempts to turn the double play and ends up sliding past the bag."and his hand grazes Forsythe's foot.
I think so. Everyone is talking about the new rule, but I think this would have been called in previous years too. Easier to see with instant replay is only difference.Insane ending. Hope someone posts video soon -- can't figure that out on mobile.

Both Gibbons and announcer Gregg Zaun both did not handle this loss with any dignity. First Zaun rolls his eyes at the Posey rule then exclaims he broke his own leg as it was his fault. That's a bit harsh. Then comes the quote that this new rule are making the players sissies. It's hard ball!!!“@TBTimes_Rays: #BlueJays Gibbons, asked about safety aspect of new slide rule after loss to #Rays, said, ”I guess we’ll come out wearing dresses tomorrow.“”
Deliberately grabbing at a guy's leg while he's making a throw is definitely not something you see that often and I think Bautista doesn't have much to complain about.I think so. It would have been worse if Matt Kemp, of all people, hadn't made a diving catch behind him that was almost identical to the one by Mookie in our game.James Shields is getting hit all over Petco Park.
27 including today. Happened opening day with the same teams which prompted the article.Interesting occurrence in Milwaukee today as both the Brewers and Giants started the game with both respective pitchers hitting 8th.
I wonder how many times that's happened? It's got to be very rare.
Great find. Thanks!27 including today. Happened opening day with the same teams which prompted the article.
Kind of strange that it happened 11 times in '08 and then not again until '15.
