The season runs from October 2nd to November 9th, followed by 2 days of playoffs.

The 1st game of the season starts in about 40 minutes if my time zones are on point.

Glendale Desert Dogs @ Salt River Rafters

Hickey is DH & batting 4th. Bonaci is playing 2B & hitting 9th. Don't think the starting pitchers have been announced, yet.

I guess it's another hour out. Arizona always confuses me, even though I went to college there.

Hickey walked in the top of the 1st & Penrod pitched a scoreless bottom of the 1st with a walk & 2 strikeouts.

He seems like a seriously interesting dude, but with a repertoire like that he is going to need pinpoint control.

Yeah...I kind of expected him to throw harder considering the crazy strikeout & walk rates he's posted.

Rules that are being experimented with in the Arizona Fall League
Pitch Clock: 15 Secs with bases empty/18 with runners on
Running Lane: Runners won't need to be in foul territory H-1st. Just in the dirt path
Blocking Bases: Defenders must provide runner lane to base
ABS: Will be used but zone will be based on players specific stance rather than height
Running Through 2nd: Runners will be called out if they run through 2nd on force plays without intending to advance to 3rd.

I'm not sure I understand the running through 2nd one—presumably players are typically only running through 2nd on a force when the defender has already touched 2b for the out anyway. Am I missing something?
