Once there is a top bid, we will bring it back to you, and if you will match that offer plus add $200M for back wages (additional years to be agreed on), then I will happily come back and do my best for the only MLB team I have played for. Possibly never in the history of US sports has a new CBA fucked over one player as much as Ohtani with the new CBA agreed upon the year before he was eligible to come to the US. It was completely aimed at him and him alone too, and it probably cost him something like $200M in the open market, give or take. I have been irritated about this since so I can only imagine how it must bother him on some level, so being able to claw that back (and he would make so much more than that for LAA if he stays healthy) would really make me so happy.
