I am not sure who you are arguing with. One person said his coaching accomplishments could have played on the voters' decision. You then said he was a lousy coach, a point you have since retracted. I said the NBA has a lower bar than the other HOF and cited reasons why, Russell's testimony among them, having recently coached the 86 Celts, as to why he got in. All we have done is point out he was not a lousy coach as you stated, and how people viewed him an integral to the C's dominance.
I believe he is a member of the HOF in recognition of the Celtics dominance. I expect many a great scoring guard was on the ballot and voters remember KC kicking his ass, so voted for KC when the time came. It is lot to do with the "Celtics Magic" that also got some undeserving Yankees accolades they did not deserve. Why recently a Yankees SS that wasn't even the best player on his team was being heralded the greatest player of all time. Look at Phil Rizzuto's HOF credentials. Satch Sanders is in the Hall as a builder too.
I expect the next role playing guard that wins 8 rings in a row will get in too.
