Curious to see which goalies are starting tonight, this is the first game of a back-to-back for both the Bruins and Islanders.
Ilya Sorokin is having a great year, currently 3rd in goals saved above expected per 60* behind 2nd place Juuse Saros and, of course, one Linus Ullmark. The reports I'm seeing are that the Isles are likely going to play Varlamov (who's a slight downgrade from Sorokin) tonight though. As for the Bruins, I don't think there's a wrong answer—Ullmark continues to be otherworldly, and Swayman has turned around his poor start to the season and is now currently 9th in goals saved above expected per 60. The Isles are better at 5v5 scoring than the Rangers, but are 27th in power play percentage. The Rangers are better defensively overall but middling in most offensive categories.
I think I go Swayman tonight and Ullmark tomorrow, but again, they're both playing well so maybe this is all moot.
*Minimum 10 games.
