Claude gonna Claude.
Every time they've gotten me excited this year that there's some progress they have 2 games in a row like this. They are what they are. They'll beat the bad teams, they'll steal a few against the middling teams, and decent teams will shut them down.
They are who we thought they were. Still feels like Claude is getting as much as he can out of these guys, but they feel 3 years away from even thinking about competing.
They have one line that can generate any forecheck, and even they are struggling to score. The defense has actually been better than I expected, but every line except the Bergeron line sucks as badly in the defensive zone as they do at the other end.
Too good to compete for a top pick, not good enough to play with any actual playoff teams. At least it feels like there is a semblence of a future now, though, unlike last year.
