cshea said:Yeah. They almost did this a year ago, it is too bad Felger and Mazz didn't remember or as about it. Seidenberg was going to play if they got past Montreal last year, and I believe they were using his LTIR for Meszaros.
I think Seidenberg had maybe a 5% chance of returning at some point during the playoffs when they made the Meszaros deal. He was ruled out for the year December and had major surgury. There were rumors he might come back during the playoffs, but honestly my understanding is he was nowhere close. Good grief the guy is still trying to get back up to speed.
That is a whole different case than, putting a player who the long end of his recovery chart has him returning a week before the regular season ends, on LTIR and replacing him.
That would be the ultimate kick in the nuts. I can just imagine.
Bruins trade Koko, and the Boychuck #2's to Phoenix for Vermette and michalak. Krejci is forced to deal with a small relapse. Then Krejci dresses for game one of the playoffs. Bruins get beat first round anyway, and then in June are assessed a 5 million dollar cap penalty for the 2015/2016 season for cap circumvention. So next year becomes a complete shitshow as well
