Fun fact, the recently cancelled Canes game was because Glen Wesley's jersey was still being raised up into the rafters.

Fuck... I miss the Whale. I can't tell you how many times I fell asleep listening to WTIC and Kaiton calling the Whalers games as a kid... sigh.

Wesley hit the fucking post. Loser.

Wesley trade tree is alive and well, though. Colin Miller, Sean Kuraly, Jakub Zboril and Trent Frederic can all be traced back to the Wesley deal.

He didn't even hit the post. He missed the net.

And Wesley himself is traced back to the Neely trade.

Yep missed the net. I've tried to black that out from memory, much like the Daugavins play in 13.

I forgot the pick they got with Cam was the pick used on Wesley. What a doozy that one was, good going Vancouver.

The full trade tree (I think) is:

Barry Pederson (drafted) -> Cam Neely, Glen Wesley -> Kyle McLaren, Jonathan Aitken, Sergei Samsonov -> Marty Reasoner, Yan Stasny, Milan Lucic -> Colin Miller, Jakub Zboril, Martin Jones -> Sean Kuraly, Trent Frederic

There's actually a whole side tree from it too that just recently expired:

Kyle McLaren -> Jeff Hackett, Jeff Jillson -> Brad Boyes -> Dennis Wideman -> Nathan Horton, Greg Campbell

Can't figure out why New Jersey got the second pick in the 1987 draft. (Wesley was the third pick). I remember that Harry wanted Brendan Shanahan badly.

The real fuck up of that draft was taking Stephane Quintal instead of Joe Sakic with the #14 pick. They probably win the cup in '90 with him.

I think it was by virtue of their record - they finished tied with the Sabres for lowest point total in the NHL in '86-'87

The skaters are obviously responsible for them but has a backup stopped any breakaways this year?

Attempts are 50-23 Bruins, 42-22 at 5x5.

It should be 4-1 or something like that. Another game that is far closer than it should be.

That shot was taken from the middle of the ice and hit the middle of the back of the net. 100% has to be saved.

It might be McIntyre time.
