is he? He has no NBA level skills, he's bad on both endsHeh, I guess he's better than some of the back end of the bench if he's healthy.
Can't be worse than Wagner. And even if he is, so?is he? He has no NBA level skills, he's bad on both ends
He never was all that good at scoring honestly, he had 1 good year in 2016-17 otherwise he was a high volume low efficiency gunner. Also he's not even close to that player anymore with all the knee injuries.I worry more about his attitude than his skills. He's always been able to score, but he changes teams so often that I had him pegged as a locker room cancer.
If the 15th man on the roster is a locker room problem it's very easily solvableI worry more about his attitude than his skills. He's always been able to score, but he changes teams so often that I had him pegged as a locker room cancer.
I’ll bet they make the 2nd year a team option so his salary can be used in the offseason. Why would Ainge sign him to a two-year deal?
Not sure the second year is guaranteed. Why would Ainge sign him to a two-year deal?
makes sense.I’ll bet they make the 2nd year a team option so his salary can be used in the offseason.
There is no way this guy is worse than WagnerSo here's the thing... Jabari Parker is bad at everything, I can't think of anyone on the main roster he's better than.... I assume it's Wagner who gets cut, but it's not really an improvement. Just a weird signing, he's absolute garbage and there are better players unsigned.
If he somehow turns out good the get him cheap next year. Almost for sure year 2 is not guaranteed so it is all upside. Why would Ainge sign him to a two-year deal?
This is fairly common to convince a FA to accept a team option for year 2. This protects the team from losing the player should he impress and be productive. The team giving him the “tryout” gets a cheap second year if it works out.Why would Ainge sign him to a two-year deal?
He's not much better. I feel like there are unsigned guys who are better than both. If it were a move for a guy who could shoot maybe, but Parker is a bad defender who can't hit 3s anymore, I just don't see what the role is for a mediocre midrange scorer who can't defend. There is no way this guy is worse than Wagner

Gerald Green, Glenn Robinson III, Wilson Chandler, and honestly maybe even Kyle Korver are all guys I think are more likely to have a skill that adds to this team.Who are the unsigned guys that are better?
maybe it's an age/maturity thing, where they want that cheap option next season?Gerald Green, Glenn Robinson III, Wilson Chandler, and honestly maybe even Kyle Korver are all guys I think are more likely to have a skill that adds to this team.
Isn’t it worth a flyer that Jabari can perform better than Semi into next season? Zero risk and if it works out you fill a role. I’m pretty sure he can still drop 20 in his sleep on any given night. That carries enough value right there to see what’s left in the tank. Maybe this min deal will set off a lightbulb that he needs to give max effort and defend if he wants to stick in the league......he’s never had to feel this way before as he could always score.I'm with CD on this, makes no sense.
Jabari Brown is still playing in China.Re-sign Jabari Bird and we have a monopoly.
Well then, grab Jahil Okafor next. This could be a move to make Jayson Tatum happy too.
Some of us are fine with it. It's a risk free move and the C's could always use more offense off the bench if it works out.I don't know Parker well enough to understand why this is such a bad addition. I take all of your word for it, but it's weird how statistically he seems like a guy who can play.
Yes, and the roster is more balanced and logically constructed now. The C's didn't need five centers (including Tacko). Some of us are fine with it. It's a risk free move and the C's could always use more offense off the bench if it works out.
Danny thinks Parker is better than Wagner. If Danny thinks he can improve a spot on the roster at minimal cost, even if its minuscule, doesn't that make sense?I'm with CD on this, makes no sense.
I believe we were looking for "Bird's career has flown"Bird threw his career away.
To your point - and about his bad defense: https://www.blogabull.com/2018/11/19/18100488/jabari-parker-experiment-failure-bullsI worry more about his attitude than his skills.
+1. He'll be occupying the 15th roster spot. He's probably league average for a player in the 15th roster spot. I do not understand the angst.I don't know Parker well enough to understand why this is such a bad addition. I definitely expect Jabari to see second unit minutes. He wasn’t signed with a team option to rot on the bench. This is a guy who as recently as last season was scoring 15 ppg on 55 eFG% and I expect Brad to be mandated by Ainge to get him minutes to see if he’s a guy that can fit into our second unit next year.+1. I agree, they know they need one more rotation piece and they are seeing if he can be it. I doubt it works but it is worth a shot.I definitely expect Jabari to see second unit minutes. Brad will play him if JP starts playing some defense, so maybe about 30% chance of that.I definitely expect Jabari to see second unit minutes. He wasn’t signed with a team option to rot on the bench. Sure, if he's able to crack the top 12, he's definitely an upgrade over Wagner. Maybe it works; maybe it doesn't. If it doesn't, they didn't exactly give up anything.I definitely expect Jabari to see second unit minutes. He wasn’t signed with a team option to rot on the bench.
