I can’t remember a collapse like this in a big game. I am sure it has happened but this is epic. Even the Falcons kept making plays. The Lions have just folded like a tent.

I sorta get the "dance with the one that brung ya" logic, but it really seems like Campbell treated this like a regular season game. Sometimes you have to adjust to the situation.

Defense has been awful. Can’t win with a D playing like they have for a half.
Offense has done jack squat this half, but underperforming D is also true. They only needed to defend 10 out of 30 minutes in the first half, should have had a little more in the tank the second half.

I don’t know what that means. They aren’t turning their backs on Campbell after this game regardless of the outcome. Maybe the Get Up crowd will but Lions will be back and continue their approach.
The Falcons said after the game they were just trying to stay aggressive.

And here is a silver lining if you were rooting for the underdog - this niners team looks like a group with a much better chance against KC

Actualluy, if they make both FGs they are still down by 4
Yeah, I think this underscores why going for it was the right call. The defense is gassed. You needed a touchdown there, or at least a field goal with a lot less time on the clock and the defense a bit better rested.

Edit: And even that assumes they make the kick.

Nothing I hate more than a coach in love with his own legend. Play to win. Don't play to be a heroic coach.
He will be so annoying after the game too talking about playing the way that got them here.m with no regard for the situation or stakes.

Sure. No one knows how it’ll work. I just hate the “take the points” because there’s no guarantee they get points on a 47 yard kick.
Their kicker is 17-21 from 40-49 over the last two seasons and 4/6 from 50+. It's not Patterson anymore.

Those odds seem better than converting 4th down in those situations. And that's just putting aside the fact, the first one would have given them a 3 score lead and the 2nd was to tie the game.
