While Dallas can be explosive on offense, the Cowboy defense is a travesty. New Orleans finally played well on defense last week and their offense is deadly. The Cowboys’ “lone star” on defense, interior tackle Henry Melton, is still battling a pre-season groin strain and now has a hamstring strain.
The Stats:
DVOA rates the Saints 13th overall at 10.8%, with the defense 31st at 15.4% and the offense 1st at 24.6%. DAVE rates the Saints 8th overall at 11.7%, with the defense 23rd at 4.5% and the offense 2nd at 15.7%. Meanwhile, DVOA rates the Cowboys 19th overall at -2.1%, with the defense 24th at 8.5% and the offense 14th at 3.3%. DAVE rates the Cowboys 20th overall at -5.2%, with the defense 29th at 7.2% and the offense 16th at 0.7%. This leads us to “Confidence” that the Saints have the superior offense and a greater advantage while on offense.

Tough beat on Pitt -1.5. Thought about doing the Indy/Pitt Wong but just had a nagging doubt on Pitt so stuck to TB +8

I don't even get what New Orleans is doing on offense. Drew, Jimmy Graham. Jimmy, this is Drew. The tv angles are poor but he's definitely been open.
Running off LT when your left tackle is out? Why? Come December we're going to look back at this game and wonder how the Saints didn't score more. Lose the line of scrimmage and lose the game.

I guess I either bowl a 300 or roll all gutterballs to pay homage to SoSH.

I still haven't put much on the line. That's my saving grace. I can deal with a 1.5 unit loss. By mid season I'll have 4 to 10 units on the line per week.

Of the 11 games today only 2 losers will cover with teasers. One of those teams, the Iggles, scored no offensive TDs to do so. It's been a bad day if you picked the wrong team to win. If the Pats lose tomorrow night and don't cover (I still want to be right even though that play is dead because Chicago lost) I'll make a sacrifice to the God of point spreads.
