What a treat for those Providence kids (and the students too) to be able to tell their grand kids they got a chance to play North Carolina in the tournament. One of the underrated things about this tournament are those sorts of childhood dreams coming true.

Yeah, I was wondering a bit about that post too, but I think I know Drocca well enough to see sarcasm.  At least, I hope I do.

In all seriousness, the most impressive thing to me, and that was an incredibly fun game, was that Providence outplays them (other than the boards obviously) with six and played at the breakneck pace. Those dudes are in fucking shape.

He is but he's also not a douche about it like someone with their alma matter in their name

Carolina fans are generally NOTHING like Duke fans. But Dukesox has his own issues, (a lot of issues) secondary to his Duke fandom.

Meanwhile, Coastal Carolina is hanging with Virginia through the first 10 minutes.  Of course, the NCAA tournament is littered with the corpses of low (or high, I guess, depending on how you choose to view it) seeds that hung around at the start only to get steamrolled later.

As a Big South alumnus (Winthrop grad) I would love to see Coastal pull the shocker.

Hitting an awful lot of contested shots. I'm biased though (UVA '98)

They did the same thing to my Winthrop Eagles in the Big South title game.  They can shoot.

That revving noise you all heard was the Lumberjacks putting their chain saws at full throttle. It's a 1-possession game. Holy shit.

There is probably not much to worry about in this one.
I plan to worry every step of the way. UVA not exactly a rooting interest that has instilled a lot of confidence!

Officially no perfect brackets left in the billion dollar challenge.

Offering a billion for a perfect first weekend would be interesting. Still not going to happen, but at least it's possible. A perfect bracket is impossible, unless the entire world signs up.

And as I look down at my 3rd TV, I see Virginia losing. Wow. You're in for it.

I think the closest it has come was someone 8 or 9 years ago was perfect until the final 4.

EastCoaster, hope you guys go far. It was a fun matchup, SFA played well for about 25 minutes hen hit a wall and couldn't catch their breath in time to make up that 24-3 run. Glad they fought back and had a shot at the end. 31-3, won't forget this season ever.

Also, Brad Underwood isn't long for SFA.

You happen to have a citation on that? Because that seems really unlikely.

Any UVa fan who is honest will admit to having only one thought when the #1 seed was announced...oh shit we'll be the first #1 to lose a first round game. You remember what happened the last time the football team was ranked #1? It's healthier to have zero confidence and anticipate spectacular failure.
