1. Jalen Reagor. Like DeVante Parker a couple of weeks ago, Mac put a deep ball on his hands and he dropped it.
2. The rest of the offense, led by Mac.
3. Third-down defense. Like last week, the Pats defense got the Commies into various 3rd and long situations, and one way or another they converted many of them. Including an absolutely absurd 24 yard scramble on a 3rd and 23. The Pats stayed in this game because the D forced two turnovers, but the D's inability to get off the field ultimately cost them.
4. The special teams. A ton of key penalties and just poor execution. The worst of the lot was Mack Wilson leaning offside on the late game punt.

I didn’t watch but just saw how it ended on Twitter.

It looked like Juju bumbled it in the clip I saw, but did the defender get a hand on it? Juju looked blanketed on the play. It looked like a drop by Juju, but also probably a poor decision to throw it to him with the defender sitting on his hip.

1. Mac Jones - just not a starting caliber NFL QB
2. Special teams
3. Reagor and Thornton - just shouldnt even be on the field.
4. Adrian Phillips - cant be a respectable safety and get tossed by a QB on a 20 something yard run for a first down
5. Coaching especially special teams.
6. Fucking refs.

Belichick again, for me. He built this craptastic roster and an offense that can’t do a damn thing against the most mediocre of competition. As the season goes on, things seem to actually be getting worse. Last year it was easy to scapegoat Patricia and Judge, but now? This is just a pitiful roster completely devoid of offensive talent. Second half of the season could be looooong

Full team effort:

Offense: incapable of long catches
Defense: incapable of tackling on 3rd down
ST: incapable of NOT committing penalties
Coaching: incapable of apparently helping any of these issues, as they've recurred all season long.

One step closer to a top draft pick.

Third down defense.
Undisciplined team - penalties at the worst times
Probably JuJu for that last play. But also for every play he had other than the great catch on 4th down.

It hit him in the worst spot - his hands

Game ball to Bill O’Brien. Two bubble screens to Juju in three plays is the stuff of genius. And making sure that Zeke was out there on passing downs late in the game instead of Rhamondre is just what you want to see. Stevenson was overworked from his 9 carries.

As much as the talent on this offense sucks, he finds a way to make the least of it. We must not forget his efforts to ensure this team averages 15 points a game for the year.

It was a not greatest decision followed by a not great throw followed by DPI followed by not making a tough but makeable catch followed by a dumb luck bounce and a nice defensive play like 1 in 100 times at most that is a pick, usually it's just an incompletion, if you're lucky enough you get the DPI or holding call

Bill O'Brien has been a failure.

I mean that throw hit him right in the hands. It looked like a good throw. I do agree with the decision being not he greatest. Maybe JuJu didn't catch b/c of DPI, but I am not sure on that. Either way, the throw looked like he put it where only JuJu could catch it.

Bill Belichick, what can't Boutte do that those "WRs" out there did?
This team not only sucks but they aren't fun to watch.

On 4th down he put it where only the ground could catch it and Juju bailed him out. If that ball hits the ground like it does 80% of the time, there is nothing left to discuss. I agree Juju should have had the last catch but he shouldn't have had the 4th down catch. Mac sucks

It hit him in the hands like mid-shin on the run as it died, that's incredibly hard to catch even without the DB spinning you and getting an arm in the way. Just because a WR touches a ball doesn't make it a ball that should be caught. But still the outcome of was mostly luck based no reason to try to assign fault on it at that point, freak bounces happen.

I would like guess that the answer is know they playbook and run the right routes.

Thornton doesn't seem to do any of that so...

The roster is near bottom of the league bad. Only so much a coach can do.
Honestly think he's been decent. Made huge changes and every week when we start seeing alll-22 there are guys schemed open that the QB, line for skill guys just don't execute well enough to take advantage

Yup. Your post made me chuckle though, because while it’s 100% dead on, it also is essentially “the team sucks so we lost”. Which is 100% dead on.

For sure.

Mac is not good, though the final play isn't the reason. That was a fine decision and good throw. Mac Derangement Syndrome is real.

I do feel sort of bad for him as the WR are awful and that bomb to Reagor was actually a great throw (he's had a few this year like that). Mac is almost certainly not a starting caliber QB, but he has reason to feel a bit screwed that he isn't getting much of a chance to not suck.

This Pats offensive roster is putrid.

The defense. Couldn’t get off the field all game (with a couple exceptions). Their third down defense was absolutely pathetic.

Whole offense. Three points in the second half at home, when 7 could have won the game.

Defense was not great either — giving up 432 yards, 23 first downs. But 20 points is fine and gives you a chance to win. We just have no playmakers, including JuJu and Mac.

I guess my goat is whoever jumped offside on a punt. Having 4 minutes with time outs makes that a much easier task.

The difference was Washington’s QB and WRs are competent, ours are not. This offense just does not make enough plays. The defense wasn’t great but they did force two turnovers.

Boutte got pumped up all week talking about how great he was doing, then he’s inactive? In a lost season? Belichick isn’t even giving the lottery tickets a chance to pay out.

I’m team tank all the way, but this isn’t even tanking. It’s just terrible leadership.

I gotta say, the BB quotes (asked about not playing Boutte) like "We play the guys we think gave us the best chance to win" aren't interesting when you are not winning.

Really, though, they forced one turnover. The other one came when Mac switched uniforms for a play in the red zone

LOL, anyone blaming Mac for this pick is not to be taken seriously. Mac sucks, but we don't need to literally be making shit up. Any NFL receiver, any college receiver, and most high school receivers (at least the ones that are allegedly the best receivers on their team) make this catch. Fuck, I made harder catches in high school games than this:
