The 718
Everton have a squad lineup at Fulham. Boy, the quality drops off quickly from the starting XI.

The 718
everton had a deflection of the crossbar that came straight down and looked in, goal line technology said the whole ball wasn't in... but also looked like it hit a Fulham defender's hand and changed direction, no call.

snakebit.

Slid past center for the second, leaving Saka additional room for error. Nice finish, but if his starting position is better he has a shot.

Not sure that's fair.. if he doesn't go farther left then Saka has the entire corner available to him. Also the defender was on the side that Saka shot to.. so he was theoretically covering part of that corner. In addition it's notoriously more difficult to save a shot when you kick it to the direction the keeper is coming from. As it was I think he made it as difficult as he could, if he's not moving to the corner Saka could basically have shot it in the direction he was moving, which I think is an easier shot.

Also a half-hearted effort by the defender on blocking it - should have gone to ground instead of the old Ole

Having a hard time getting a still that tells the whole story. Going frame by frame, his starting spot wasn’t awful- I’ll concede that. What got me (and him) was he tried to set again after the ball was struck. Saka had a fairly quick release and Turner hopped again after the ball was struck. He had no chance. His footwork to get across was fantastic, just couldn’t generate power in time while being stuck in midair.

The 718
Everton , somehow can’t score in added time - six attempts get blocked off a corner
Godfrey was two feet out from goal, and Beto was in front of him, and Godfrey kicked into Beto's body, twice.

If you ask me before the game if I take a point away to Fulham I take it, but JFC it's like there's a pane of liquor store plexiglas over the goal mouth.

Are you kidding me? 24 seconds for the Blades to score at Selhurst.
What took so long?? Heh. Luton needed just 19 seconds to score against Brighton, and got another just 40 seconds of play later (3rd min). Seagulls looking a little wobbly lately, after that streak of 20ish games both scoring and conceding, they had two scoreless draws before this debacle.

Raheem Sterling is only 29 years old. In fact, he just turned 29 in December. I just can't believe that.

A troubling start for Spurs backline leads to Neal Maupay bungling home a rebound for Brentford. He then taunts James Maddison in his celebration, right in front of Spurs supporters, which was pretty funny.

Liverpool line up: Alisson, Bradley, Konate, van Dijk, Gomez, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones, Diaz, Jota, Nunez.

Trent & Robbo on the bench, but not Thiago.

I’d like to see that again. Looked like the Brentford defender went down with very little contact.

It definitely looked like at first glance that he went down without that much contact--but the lack of real reaction by Richarlison for getting his goal ruled out may be the best indicator that he knows what he did.

Tottenham don't seem to have the width to really get at Brentford's low block. Werner and Kulu are both tucked pretty close to the center of the pitch and it's making it easier for Brentford to clog up the middle of the attacking third.

The Liverpool counterattack seems to be catching Chelsea. Understandable as Klopp is debuting it today.

Darwin has already forced 2 tough saves. Gotta get one before he remembers how to miss the goal entirely.

There's no lame duck vibes at Anfield! But the boys do need to stay compact in the midfield.

Tottenham with a incredible fury coming out of the half. Special, special stuff happening in North London.

Richarlison now has 7 goals in his last 7 games.

Ooof, Udogie with one of the worst give-aways you will ever see gives Brentford a lifeline.

Paul Tierney only awarded Liverpool that penalty because he knew Darwin would miss it. #galaxybrain
