Packed it in at 7, yet again. For upper left, at least my boyhood memory of
comes through at .002
Tom Sturdivant
Same. And had the same reaction.Whiffed on the center square. Goddammit.
This board can take bragging rights for most of that low % selection.Surprised that Randy Winn and Jeff Reardon got me such low percentages, but here we are.
Slocumb's face pretty much matches my face during his appearances.Today's took me about a minute. Probably could have lowered the rarity score if I took more time but it was nice not really agonizing over any of them for once.
We matched a lot of choices today. Crazy.8/9
RS- 263
I mixed up John Vukovich and Pete Vuckovich
I'm surprised I got that low a score.

Yeah, you also have to think about guys who's were really good "hitters" but WALKED a lot and avoid them too. Bonds never got 200 in a season because he walked so much (and later WAS walked so much).BAH. So close. Carlos Delgado had 196 hits in 2000.
This game has made me realize that there are some statistical categories that I’m pretty ignorant of. Career saves was one (is 300 a lot?) and today, 200 hits. I assume that’s a lot, but I have no just how rare it is. Can I just guess any good hitter (like the 100 RBI category), or do I need to really think about guys with excellent bat to ball tools?Turns out it’s definitely the latter. For example, Nomar only did it once. Pedroia twice. Manny never came particularly close.
Yeah, but you completed it, Congrats! We matched a lot of choices today. Crazy.

It's a stat that tends to favor players who have a fairly unique combination of skills:BAH. So close. Carlos Delgado had 196 hits in 2000.

That's awesome, but that square is only for 200 hits with Milwaukee.9/9/94
I was very confident when I entered Robin Yount as the Brewer with 200+ hits / 100+ RBI. After I finished and looked it up, he only did that one time- in 1982, with 210 Hits and 114 RBI.
I know I’m a day late, and I’ll spoiler it just in case it’s possible to go back to old grids, but I see your Sox saves man and raise you one Rick Aguilera.60 today. The Rays killed me. How quickly most forgot my Red Sox/saves answer.....
Me too! But they added basketball and football so that is pretty cool.Today is the first day that they're releasing the puzzle at 9am eastern instead of midnight. Kind of a bummer, I enjoyed doing it first thing every day.
Is my dyslexia showing? In any case, he had 200 hits in one season only. That's awesome, but that square is only for 200 hits with Milwaukee.
I instantly thought of that Astros/Mets player and skipped him because I thought he'd be obvious. I guess not.
Yeah, I too thought I was being clever with Piazza as a Met/Marlin, but he turned out to be my highest percentage, so a lot of other people must have had the same idea! Should’ve gone with Carlos Delgado instead. My best one yet. Rarity score of 47.
I was going to do Piazza with the Mets and Marlins before remembering he also spent some time in Oakland.

Just looked at 2002 and...My big mistake today was:
Eric Chavez was never an all star?! Big surprise, but must have been a glut of 3B at that time.
