I habitually clear my browsing history multiple times per day. I'm not sure why, but it probably stems from my days of hiding my porn habits when I was a youth. Anyway, now it seems that I can no longer clear my iPhone browsing history in Safari without also deleting my cookies and website data. This is annoying because it logs me out of all my favorite websites. I guess I could get used to not clearing my history, but it's a 20 year old habit that will be hard to break. Please tell me there's a workaround.

In Safari, go to History, then at the Bottom hit Clear.

If you're that paranoid, why not just use private browsing all the time?

That's what I always did. Now it clears cookies and data instead of just browsing history. It's not even being paranoid at this point; it's just a habit that is hard to break. I always clear my history just like I constantly empty my deleted items folders. Also, if I use private browsing, I would have to log in to websites every time I visit. I'm not looking for that.

Wow you're right. I'm guessing it's a bug. That's what you get for upgrading to a x.0 release, as i did earlier!

Not safari related, but I'm putting it here bc I think its IOS9 related. Today I did the update, and immediately started getting texts intended for my son's phone. When I texted him to tell him, my sent text arrived in my phone from "Dad" and with the pic he uses of me in his contacts. I turned off imessage and things were normal. Later in the day, I logged off the icloud, thinking it was email related, turned on imessage, and the texts continued. If the person was in my phone, the name was there, if not, just the number. He figured it out and walked me through the issue. When I went to send/receive in the imessage settings, my phone, his phone, my other son's phone, and 2 of his emails were in that list. I unchecked them and its back to normal.

So I'm guessing ios9 is giving the Ashley Madison hack a run for their money today.

Fixed the texting. But lots of other issues. Logged out of the cloud and that seems to help most of the issues. Basically when I'm logged into the cloud, my phone is a mishmash of two phones.

You should really stop using a single iTunes account on yours and your kids' devices. Apple now allows you to put multiple accounts into your Family Sharing so you can still buy apps and music/TV/movies/books/etc. and share those purchases with your family. It also allows you to configure kid accounts to send purchase approvals to your parent account, so they can buy their own apps on the Family Shared iTunes but only if you approve the purchase.

Plus you get a free 5 GB of iCloud storage for each account rather than using one pooled storage amount.

Using my email when they were 8 and wanted an iPod shouldn't mean texts and calls push through to my phone 10 years later. I don't use iTunes, it's not active on my phone, I don't have any music on this phone at all. Since I don't use the one universal feature that drives customers to a shitty phone, I'll just fix it by going back to android. I'm too old to read this tiny print anyway.

Does the issue persist if you go back to looking at porn all the time?

We're working through this crap, but still 2 days of BS to get shit that is supposed to be on his phone on his phone and shit that isn't supposed to be on mine off.

The itunes thing isn't fixing it all. All of his contacts are still in my contacts list, browser history is mixed, when I call him the icon on my phone says "'his name' or me" like I'm calling him and myself. I'm fairly certain I'm going to finally get it all fixed and then just chuck this POS phone into a brick wall.
