So here's what we think we know:
2 new phones with 4.7" and 5.5" screens (5.5" aka iPhone Air)
sapphire crystal screens (unclear if included on both phones or possibly offered as a premium upgrade feature)
Improved screen with ~416 ppi pixel density
Possible 13mp Sony camera (some reports say they will keep 8mp but with f2.0 aperture and improved processing)
New A8 chip
Dual-core 2 GHz processor
Possible memory up to 128gb (2gb RAM)
Touch Fingerprint ID carried over from 5s
NFC capability
Rumored but doubtful: wireless charging, haptic feedback, lighted Apple logo (visual text alert)
Price : ??? If more than $199 on contract for 16gb phone they are probably making a mistake
Probably more important than the spec sheet is iOS8 with Healthkit, new camera features like Time Lapse, deeper Apple ecosystem integration, iCloud Drive, more robust notification center, Spotlight and Moar Keyboardz! (lower case keys for the love of god!)
The big news is the bigness. But it's not that big. The physical dimensions are almost the same as LAST year's HTC One, and closer to the mini versions of most Android flagship devices. Sure, it's going to feel big coming from another iPhone (especially for those of us still rocking the 4s) but I think they are missing the sweet spot, which IMO is right around 5" display. My guess is they are leaving themselves room to increase the size incrementally for future versions.
Anything I'm missing? Anybody standing in line yet?
