Woke up to find a bunch of dog shit on the floor. Dog chose the hardwood, which was nice of him. He seems to have eaten an entire bag of cough drops judging by the wrappers in it, which was not nice of him. I suspect that menthol wasn’t as soothing on his outbox as it is to my Covid Cough.

I feel that’s a nice metaphor for the 0730 kickoff this morning. Everton are sort of cool this year thanks to the gaffer, but they’re wrapped in shit FFP.

Keep me occupied while i cough and regret my empty stomach medication choices this morning.

No messing about for Spurs. Richarlison slots home and is about to celebrate then remembers the Goodison years.

Ashley Young is on the pitch.

Everton playing the Dyche game well going forwards but looking quite shaky at the back.

I missed the Tottenham goal but Everton deserved that goal. They’ve been the better side since I flipped this game on 10-15 minutes ago. They are keeping the game disjointed.

I really hate that post-up on the keeper corner routine, not sure if it’s because I hate the aesthetics or because Vicario is specifically bad at defending it.

Have to say I'm surprised to see them allow a goal where a defender backed into the goalie with zero attempt at playing the ball. For better or worse, that's been an automatic foul in the six-yard box.

Not this year against Vicario it hasn’t been.

Hope that gets Dom firing again.

I actually didn’t wake up in time and missed the Spurs goal, in what I’ve seen it’s been all Everton

They’ve been perfect except for cross accuracy and for Pickford being worrying.

Everton have struggled lately. Need results more than performances. But I can’t be upset right now, we’ve been the better side

I think Vicario’s weakness on corners really highlights how rare complete keepers are. If you watched any other aspect of his game you’d assume he’s absolute world class. He just has a massive Achilles‘ Heel.

Good news is… That’s not a weakness fundamental to his makeup. He can and will improve, and then he’ll be in that top keeper conversation.

I don’t like it either. Between this one, the other one against him and the Luton goal against Burnley it seems like they are allowing more contact with the keeper.

Counting down the minutes until Sarr gets in there, maybe Skipp if he’s not ready. Hojberg/Bentancur is not really working in the midfield.

I think it’s just continuing deterioration of objective standards. Current use of VAR has created an environment where everything is a second guess so whether it’s offside, handball, whatever, instead of standards and the fortitude to make tough calls everything is /shrugemoji

Spurs’ midfield pressing has been poor. Everton are getting through them way too easily.

Everton hitting all their longballs super straight instead of into the gaps left by Spurs FBs, making it easier for van de Ven to clean ‘em up.

When this much of the attack runs through Godfrey, you can’t feel that great as a blue.

This is the rare game where the calls are favoring Everton
Trying to follow my gaffers lead and not complain about it (it actually hasn’t been too bad in this game compared to others), but Spurs haven’t gotten any calls since that Liverpool game.

Spurs need one of those set piece coaches bad. Also a few more good windows building a squad so you never have “close out a match with Gil” as a thing you try to do.

Without the -10 Everton wound be in 12th, level on points with Wolves, and 2 points behind Chelsea in 10th.

Oh boy. Seagulls score twice in a minute and are up 3-0 in the Quadrophenia derby. Wonder if this could be the ax for Roy.

First half of Luton v Newcastle was fun. More goals coming in that one.
The rejuvenation of Ross Barkley continues apace. If he keeps it up he might creep back into Southgates peripheral vision which would have been utterly insane not too long ago.

I raced home for this?

This season, aside from the actual delight (and I mean this earnestly, not sarcastically in any way) of seeing Union Berlin play some of the best teams in the world, has been brutal to watch for me.

If the 49ers lose next Sunday, I might just give up on sports :)

Omg Olise hurt after 9 minutes.

I also forgot to update my fantasy team, so that’s gotta be one of the worst captain performances.
