Just 12 goals last season, but did bury 24 goals the year before. Remains to be seen how much he has left in the tank, but no complaints for that $1 million cap hit.
Bruins have to essentially “moneyball” this season.

JVR is a player I've always sort of misread in the sense that when he started to put up some solid numbers in Toronto I thought it was the beginning of what would be half a dozen years or more of really top level play. Never seemed to happen. I've still maintained maybe a weakly substantiated anxiety about him going off on any given night against the Bruins. Maybe he'll find the fountain of youth this summer and surprise us? I'm on board.
He’s a good net front guy. He will bang in pucks on the PP, that’s always been his calling card.
