I wonder what Berahino thinks about this. Ward is his agent, too, and he'd like to move to Liverpool or Spurs for more money.

Summer '17
Player: 'Could Liverpool be interested in me?'
Aidy Ward: 'Not sure.'
Player: 'Have you rung them?'
Ward: 'Yep. Definitely...'

Have you met the tabloid media? I'm beginning to suspect all futbol fans are somewhat deranged.

Have you stepped into the NFL forum lately? All sports fans are at least somewhat deranged. I'm guessing that's why they're labeled "fanatics" on this side of the pond.

Nope. I've read the Hernandez Trial thread only since mid-January.

And obviously, I agree. But I'm also perplexed that the media, especially the British tabloids, aren't automatically assumed to be the liars.

In an ideal world, Sterling sits on the bench or plays in the reserves for 2015/16 on his current contract and we sell him for £5-10m in 12 months time.

Unfortunately, we don't live in an ideal world and money talks. Get rid, I say, take anything above £25m and move on and let someone else deal with him and wonder just why he's not actually as good as the dvd's they've been looking at. He has no history with the club, no loyalty (we did pinch him from QPR, remember`), so there's no reason for him to feel the same as us fans. Move on and FU, Raheem, let's see what playing time you get at City or Chelsea.

In other news...Jordan Ibe & John Flanagan have signed new long-term contracts. Excellent work.

I actually think that Ibe will end up being better than Sterling.

I'm not convinced Ibe has the natural ability that Sterling has but he sure as hell has a better attitude and seems to be willing to work and work to improve his game. The details of the new contract extension haven't been divulged - yet - but there is a certain charm about a player in this day and age not having an agent and relying on his family to do the right thing. I only hope the club haven't taken advantage of that and shafted him. It's likely they've got him reasonably cheaply but don't forget, he'll only be 24 when this expires and in fact is likely to be younger than that before the next big contract negotiation takes place.

Plenty of time for Ibe to improve and then secure a big pay-day.

I enjoyed watching Flanagan play, but it seems like his knee is made out of Sturridge's hip ligaments. I hope he can get and stay healthy.

Well, he got a large amount of playing time for a team that just missed winning the league.
To be clear I wasn't asking to be a smart ass. It was a real question. I admit I'm not a sophisticated enough viewer to determine who should or should not belong on a roster with top four ambitions.

Apparently the team will debut the 3rd kits for next year in the game on Sunday.

Yes, Steven Gerrard's last appearance for Liverpool will be in whatever New Balance came up with for a 3rd kit.  Please be better than the Warrior monstrosities.

Honestly, it's genius from New Balance. You can't have Gerrard model it for next year, so why not have him wear it before he leaves and get shots and perhaps sell the kit now?

They already did this for the home kit. When he came out for his lap around Anfield and all the other players came out wearing Gerrard shirts, that was next season's New Balance shirt.

I've seen the leaks of next year's kits, if the white away and black 3rd leaks are accurate, then I'm fine with then.

Teams do that all the time, it's not a Gerrard thing.

If the Stoke fans aren't chanting "Are you Newcastle in disguise?" they should be. The players are doing a great job of saying they want Jurgen Klopp next season.

They don't (attempt to) play competitive sports. And don't mention Darren Fletcher, I love the guy but he doesn't know whether to fart or shit.

Plus, I just ordered my 10th Carlsberg at the LFC bar in the Seattle area, which earns me a free Liverpool beanie.

So I got that going for me...

You haven't had enough.

So between this and the report that it isn't just Sterling that wants Rodgers out, how long before he's gone?

This gets them out of Europa League, no?

Edit: thanks for the info my app was showing Spurs as having that spot, was thinking this may have been akin to tanking

Just catching up on the match now, glad I slept in. Think that takes care of the Rodgers question. This Stoke massacre is the final straw. That locker room is lost. Couldn't even show up for Gerrard's final matches. Hell, it looks like this team doesn't even train together. What a mess.

I agree that they haven't look good since the second Man U match. That said, I'm not sure I'd fire Rodgers unless they were 100% sure that Klopp would sign with them. Who is out there a.)that's better, AND b.) would sign with the present wage structure. Bear in mind, I'm not saying that Rodgers is doing a bang-up job. I'm saying I don't know of any that can dig them out of their present hole.

It's hard to know what to do when the manager has lost the players. With players like Balotelli and Sterling trying to force their way out of town and the team seeming to give up down the stretch, it certainly looks like the players are no longer interested in listening to Rodgers.

Keep Rodgers and gut the squad, or sack the manager and hope the players listen to the man who follows? Those are two poor options, but they need to choose one.

No-one was more excited than I was when he signed. That said, the idea that Balotelli believes believes that "forcing" a move is necessary to hasten his departure is hilarious.

I agree he would be moving on whether he wants to or not, but that isn't the issue.

Andre Wisdom has signed a new long-term contract, no word on length or money. He played 24 Premier League games this year while on loan at West Brom.

It appears Toure has extended his contract as well.  Again, no terms disclosed.
