He made two very good plays earlier: one on a sac bunt by Mateo that could easily have been a single, and another as a the cutoff man to nab Rutschman stretching an RBI single.
That's good.

The first 2 bad plays I saw (cutting off an out at home and then not covering 3rd when runner on 2nd made a base running mistake) were just odd mental lapses more than anything physical. So maybe just opening day rust or something.

To me, one of the biggest stories that will be overlooked is the stolen bases. If this is the way the game is played this year, it dramatically changes the game. Because of the pitch clock, you can wait until the clock goes down to 2 or 3 seconds and take off, especially if the pitcher has already thrown over once.

It's like Canadian football with a short play clock. Need to be ready way faster
