My god. He just took Turang's soul and his ankles on that slider. That was hysterical.
I'm sure the replay will make the rounds for a long time on social media. Turang was expecting a 100mph fastball... and instead he got a slider that fell off the end of the planet and he tried to bend out of the way and half swung as he fell down. Even Turang had to just laugh.
Edit: Through 4 IP, Jones has given up 1 hit, struck out 6, and gotten 17 Swinging Strikes on 48 pitches. Fastball sitting 99. This kid is an electric factory.

This is like when the Braves finally let Spencer Strider start in 2022. Just absolute filth that makes pro hitters look silly.
Now on track for a -574 run differential. Not quite the historic start the A's had last year (they were at a -771 pace through 21 games, but ultimately heated up late season to finish at a mere -339), but still in contention to relieve the '32 Sox of the modern era title.
Things like this used to be exciting. Now it's just another guy who's getting TJS next spring.
I cannot overstate it. Against the Mets was the sickest shit I’ve seen live in my life at a baseball game. I never saw Pedro in person. I was at Yanks/Rays the other night (Soto bomb) and it may as well have been beer league pitching compared with Jones.

Not quite 90%… Santander was a fringe Cleveland prospect taken in the Rule 5 draft after his first season in Hi-A. The only minor league development time he spent with the Orioles was about a half-season the year after they acquired him and could option him.
Not only do the Orioles have the #22 pick in the draft, but they get #32 for Henderson winning Rookie of the Year.
How long until this becomes an awkward situation? No one seems particularly worried at the moment, but it has to be getting a little painful for a 20-year-old

Snell's disastrous offseason has morphed into an even more disastrous regular season, where he has sucked and is now injured. If he needs time to get right again, he will be looking at hitting the market following a very mediocre, easily replaceable type of season. Henry might still be a giant cheapskate, I dunno, but at least his team is somewhere between super lucky and actually good at not stepping on veteran SP landmines.
