What's that?Marbleheader said:This show is beyond terrible. It's like 3 guys in a locker room talking about chicks and bodily functions. I really dislike Gresh and wish EEI could put together a show worth listening to. I try to give Dale and Holley a shot, but they usually have some clown like Thornton or Dickerson on and it's unlistenable. It's amazing how bad their talent decisions are. They let Felger get away but still employ Mustard and Johnson.

Benz in a Salk clone. Lou is barely passable as a "baseball guy" and Fauria like zolak minus the actual football intelligence. How Fauria hasn't killed Benz for all of his spygate talk is beyond me.
bluefenderstrat said:Yeah, this show sucks. Benz constantly does this "here's an argument no one has made and I'm going to rail against it" routine to try and generate calls & discussion. Mut was mediocre, but there was no reason to bring Benz in from out of town and (presumably) pay him more $.
I have to agree, replacing Salk with Benz was throwing gasoline on a fire.PeaceSignMoose said:Tim Benz's goal in life is to ultimately be a less charismatic Michael Felger. Sadly, I would take Salk every day of the week over Benz.

agreed with everything. Benz was horrible. Didn't think they could do worse than Mut but they somehow managed.Erik Hanson's Hook said:Glad Benz is gone. You could combine the best qualities of he and Salk and still have an awful sports talk show host. That time slot has seen some astounding mediocrity since Dale & Holley moved. Benz also suffers from SFS (Shiny Forehead Syndrome) when he's on TV for Comcast. It's...uncomfortable.
He and Fauria are painful, but I don't mind Lou. He's obviously knowledgable on the Sox, and his Pats fandom shows itself in a fun way during football season. Wish they could find some good talent to pair him with.
Ax Fauria next.
well, at least he is "good" enough to get local TV work unlike Mike SalkErik Hanson's Hook said:Glad Benz is gone. I do think this is a great chance for WEEI to go with somebody new instead of just inserting another one of their guys who don't have a steady gig into the hole.
I've only heard Trenni in small doses but from what I've heard she has been horrible.JBJ_HOF said:It should be Trenni, Lou and someone other than Fauria.
Could not agree less. Easily one of, if not the best fill-in hosts. Knowledgeable on all topics, willing to give the needed "hot takez" while not a bombastic host.Byrdbrain said:I've only heard Trenni in small doses but from what I've heard she has been horrible.
I'm all for trying out some new blood but unfortunately it will probably be Ordway or Tanguay.
My inclination is to want to see her succeed. I agree that Trenni is knowledgable and professional. That being said, I have no idea how she would "settle" in doing a talk show 5 X a week. I don' t think I 've seen/heard enough of her to predict. It would certainly be worth a try, but I'm not sure the overwhelmingy male demographic of sports talk radio would warm to her. We're talking about a frat-boy mentality.. the kind of listeners that chuckle at Tony Mazz recalling his days as a single guy and getting himself some "boob salad."JBJ_HOF said:Could not agree less.
