The tide really has turned. Last night, after Damon and Unless you are referring to Kanekoa Texeira... you don't know how to spell his last name went back-to-back to bring the Yankees within a run, nobody in the park so much as batted an eye. Had that event happened 5 years ago -- back-to-back shots by the Yankees in the later innings -- the proverbial air would have been sucked out of Fenway Park. Fans would have entered full-scale panic mode, and the Yankees win that game more times than not.
This isn't meant to be a Bill Simmons-esque analysis. The fans last night, even after the two HR's, knew the Sox were going to win. The dichotomy between the two eras (pre and post-2004) grows by the day.
