Great series. Huge swing from Werth thrown out at home, and Pederson hitting the next pitch out to left to end Scherzer's great night.
The Dodgers either start Kershaw on three days rest for Game two, or five days rest for game three. The game two start would mean the possibility of four days rest for game five, three days rest for game seven. The game three start would mean four days rest for game six, five days rest for game seven.
Maeda starts game one, and Hill would have five days rest for game three. I think they go with Kershaw for the game two start.
Game 1 Oct. 15 Maeda
Game 2 Oct. 16 Kershaw
Game 3 Oct 18 Hill
Game 4 Oct. 19 Maeda
Game 5 Oct. 20 Kershaw
Game 6 Oct. 22 Hill
Game 7 Oct. 23 Kershaw
I agree the Dodger bullpen has been great this year, but Jansen(54.6%), Blanton(45.6%), and Dayton(52.8%) all have high flyball rates. In a short series, those flyball rates can be magnified. Jansen gave up a double and a home run in game three, and Grant Dayton gave up the two-run home run to Chris Heisey to make it a one-run game.
