Shh...let Dolan go...he's on a roll.Who in gods name is playing defense on the Knicks???
Rumor is they are heavily pursuing Dwight.Who in gods name is playing defense on the Knicks???
That would be awesome. It's still 2011, right?Rumor is they are heavily pursuing Dwight.
I always liked Lopez, but this is the sort of swing for the fences, low risk move that the Knicks should be making. There is, of course, a 2.3% it actually works out well. But worth a shot.
It's actually not all that Knicksy. They didn't give up any picks, or any serious value outside of Lopez. And Lopez is a nice player and all, but nothing that you write home about. And he's a nice player that plays the same position as the franchise player you drafted last year.Yeah, that's the most Knicks deal ever.
Well we do have the highest one on the list.ford is saying teasm with #s 3-4-5-6-7-8-11-12-13-15-16-19-20 and 21 are marketing their picks.
bad news for the C's
why do 9, 10, 14 17 and 18 want to keep their picks?Well we do have the highest one on the list.
No way. Ainge will be able to acquire this entire draft for a couple second rounders and Kelly Olynyk.ford is saying teasm with #s 3-4-5-6-7-8-11-12-13-15-16-19-20 and 21 are marketing their picks.

Maybe, but if Philly *really* wants Dunn, then we still have an angle to make something work.ford is saying teasm with #s 3-4-5-6-7-8-11-12-13-15-16-19-20 and 21 are marketing their picks.

Marc Spears speculating Noah could reunite with Rose in NYCI really hope Ainge makes a run at Jo Noah now. I don't see him coming back to Chicago, and I think he'd give them what they hoped Amir Johnson would. He's a pure 5, he'll rebound, he'll defend, he'll agitate, high basketball IQ; certainly you worry about him breaking down at 31 coming off the shoulder surgery but he's the kind of guy I'd throw some money at.
Noah appears more likely to reunite with Thibs in Minnesota, but I too think he'd address several of this team's shortcomings and elevate the defense to a potentially elite level.I really hope Ainge makes a run at Jo Noah now. I hope Ainge is in no hurry. Draft Dunn and keep squeezing Philly until the Colangelos scream a collective "uncle." They can't use all these centers adequately.Maybe, but if Philly *really* wants Dunn, then we still have an angle to make something work.
I've seen this posted a few times on Twitter but can you explain this? Seems to me like you could make very solid arguments for both Butler's staying and Butler's getting traded with the Rose moveHornacek's got his work cut out for him. Seems like another signal that Butler's staying in Chicago.
And Boston can't use all the PG's. It can be a double hostage situation with both sides escalating their demandsI hope Ainge is in no hurry. Draft Dunn and keep squeezing Philly until the Colangelos scream a collective "uncle." They can't use all these centers adequately.
Evan Turner played almost 30 mpg because the team lacked secondary playmakers/ball handlers behind IT. I think they can manage better than Philly can.And Boston can't use all the PG's. It can be a double hostage situation with both sides escalating their demands
And Philly is years from contending so they can wait out Boston longer than Boston can wait out Philly.Evan Turner played almost 30 mpg because the team lacked secondary playmakers/ball handlers behind IT. I think they can manage better than Philly can.
Primarily because getting rid of Butler now would leave E'Twaun Moore and Aaron Brooks (edit- Calderon and Grant now too, but point still stands) as the guys initiating the offense. It narrows what they could get in return for Butler because it would leave them with such a glaring need for a ball handler/scorer. For draft picks, that would basically be Dunn or bust, unless they're really high on Baldwin. With Mirotic, Lopez, Portis, Gibson and lots of cap space if Gasol opts out, I don't think they're looking to rebuild, but they'd need a guy who can handle the ball and create his own shot, and I doubt they'd find a better fit than Butler. He has been great for them, particularly when Rose has been out. Plus, he's the face of the franchise now.I've seen this posted a few times on Twitter but can you explain this? But one of our PGs can guard 7 foot centers. Not sure the reverse is trueAnd Boston can't use all the PG's. It can be a double hostage situation with both sides escalating their demands
What the Bulls really wanted for Rose was a 2nd round draft pick and no salary commitments. Having to carry Lopez at $14m for 2 seasons hampers the Bulls ability to get into the free agent market for multiple max contract guys, but that was what it took to move Rose. They got good value for Rose, so maybe this was more about seizing that opportunity rather than actively deciding to build around Butler, but barring a blockbuster for an established playmaker, I don't see them getting rid of him now.
Noah has been hampered by injuries for 2 years now, so the health risks are huge.Noah appears more likely to reunite with Thibs in Minnesota, but I too think he'd address several of this team's shortcomings and elevate the defense to a potentially elite level.
They could move Lopez tomorrow if they want to. A competent center on that contract is a commodity. What the Bulls really wanted for Rose was a 2nd round draft pick and no salary commitments. Yeah, $14 million is nothing for Lopez with the uptick in the salary cap. They could move Lopez tomorrow if they want to. A competent center on that contract is a commodity.
I was thinking the same, but think the Nets can prob do better than #23. Also, I realize that they have a brand new front office, but wonder if the optics of dealing with the C's again would simply look too bad for their fans? With the Nets shopping Thad Young for a late first-rounder, should the C's offer the #23? Thad would seem to be a pretty good fit on the roster, and is making reasonable money at $12M per for the next two seasons. Making the Nets worse and Boston better seems like a win-win proposition.
Minus the hometown aspect, Rose's career looks very similar to what happened with Nomar, right? What the Bulls really wanted for Rose was a 2nd round draft pick and no salary commitments. Having lived in Chicago for Rose's entire career, I can't tell you how sad this all is for Bulls fans. Rose is a Chicago kid who became the #1 pick, the MVP, the heir to Jordan. He still is beloved in a way that few star athletes ever are. And someplace way deep down, every Bulls fan secretly expected Rose to get back to being the force of nature he once was. Clearly both Rose and the Bulls need a fresh start, but nobody in Chicago feels good about all this.
Anyway, Butler stays as the Bulls' centerpiece to attract other free agents unless the Bulls need to trade Butler to get the right pieces to sign a superstar (eg, they trade Butler for Harden in order to sign Durant).
Is Mikey D looking to block Clint Capela's development? A lot of scouts love Capela after his first two years, believe he has a bright future.Jake Fischer @JakeLFischer 39s40 seconds ago
In preliminary trade talks, Houston pitched the Sixers a package involving Trevor Ariza and Patrick Beverley for Nerlens Noel, per source.
They do seem pretty incompatible. If the Rockets get Noel, I'd love for the Celtics to ask about Capela. Is Mikey D looking to block Clint Capela's development? A lot of scouts love Capela after his first two years, believe he has a bright future.
Rose peaked higher and earlier. I mean, in April 2007 he was playing in the McDonalds high school all star game. In June 2011, only 4 years later, he was hoisting the NBA MVP trophy. Bulls fans were ready for him to walk across Lake Michigan within a couple years.Minus the hometown aspect, Rose's career looks very similar to what happened with Nomar, right?

Brooklyn has traded forward Thad Young to the Indiana Pacers for the 20th pick and a future 2nd rounder, league sources tell @TheVertical.
Man. At that price, I would've loved Ainge to be in on Thad. Something like #16 or #23 + 2016 2nd, theoretically could've gotten it done. Seems like a perfect "bridge" move.Adrian Wojnarowski @WojVerticalNBA 17s17 seconds ago
