He clearly is a shitty Offensive Coordinator and was a poor Head Coach, but the dude won 2 Super Bowls as a Defensive Coordinator.

When a team inevitably hires Josh McDaniels as OC, I'm not going to write them off because of his stints in Denver and Vegas.

I always thought MP employed a structurally sound but generally passive (or at least not aggressive) defense. The way Philly can control games, maybe that is what they need.

Agreed on his approach as DC of the NEP. Time will tell if he will be successful as Philly’s DC.

Great, now do Kareem Jackson
No shit, Kazee is certainly no angel in this regard, but the fact that the NFL immediately suspends him for the season, while Jackson has been suspended multiple times (for a total of 6 games) still has eligibility to return this season is a complete head scratcher.

Brady has been on this "stop throwing hospital balls" kick, and he's not totally wrong overall. He is wrong on this one, that hit was dirty as hell, the guy went straight for the head and he didn't have his arms out at all. His objective was pretty clearly to drill the guy as hard as possible with his helmet and/or shoulder.

You can’t be talking about the Kazee hit, because he made contact with Pittman at thigh height and he made contact with his shoulder. The unfortunate timing of Pittman diving contributed significantly to the outcome. (I have no idea what Brady is trying to say, but it’s practically a non sequitur.)

How do you know Kazee’s objective wasn’t to prevent Pittman from catching the ball? Safeties hit crossing receivers all the time with their shoulders. It’s in their job description.

Now that the NFL has found his Jesus on player contact, Runyan better call home and say he’s going to be tied up through at least mid-January because he’s going to busy if consistency is a trait he possesses.

Edit: I should add that they used his discipline history in calculating the punishment. Since it’s all a black box, it’s hard to know how much was due to whatever he was fined for in the past and this incident, but it’s a factor to consider.

A guy puts down 2k at 100-1 down on Purdy in the summer to win the MVP. This is when there was no guarantee he was going to be ready to play in September. Coming into this week he was the favorite to win . He goes to prop swap site and offers at $125k to sell it. Someone buys it for the.125k. Purdy promptly throws the 4 ints and Lamar is now the favorite.

Packers suspend Jaire Alexander for almost messing up the coin flip after apparently making himself a captain. Originally called defense before ref prompted a correction:

The Green Bay Packers will be without a significant player when they face the Vikings in Minnesota on Dec. 31. Cornerback Jaire Alexander has been suspended for one game by the team for conduct detrimental to the team, general manager Brian Gutekunst announced Wednesday. The suspension stems from Alexander's actions during the coin flip ahead of their Week 16 win over the Carolina Panthers.
...
"I said, 'I want our defense to be out there,' and they all looked at me like I was crazy," Alexander said when asked about his gaffe, via ESPN. "I'm like, I mean it's pretty simple what I said, like I want the defense to be out there. They like, 'You mean defer?' and I'm like, 'Yeah, I guess.'"

Alexander's actions were criticized afterward by Packers coach Matt LaFleur, who called it "a big mistake."
Packers fans that I know aren't happy. They want him out on the field with their playoff chances on the line.

The best part of that story is that he made himself the captain, and just showed up at midfield with the real captains and then proceeded to call tails and fuck up the terminology.

After surprising team captains Aaron Jones , Eric Wilson and Quay Walker at midfield for the coin toss, Alexander called tails and elected to be on defense instead of deferring after winning the toss.

I will now adopt Jaire Alexander as a rooting interest, because that's fucking hysterical.

It's also the first game of the weekend, which can't be a coincidence. NFL perhaps hoping that if/when they fuck up again, everything that happens later will bury the problem.

The NFL is the ultimate dictator. You think we’ll apologize and admit we’re wrong? Fuck you - we’re gonna promote these guys.

Being Roger Goodell means never having to say you’re sorry.

Letting Aaron Rodgers be your GM is actually worse than having Belichick as your GM. At least the Patriots have that.

Oh wow.. 300k, I bet he can find that in spare quarters under his couch...
What should he be fined? $300mm so he can feel it? 300k is a ton and the humiliation that his team is so bad he’s throwing drinks on fans is probably way worse. NFL did well here.

Does the fine money go to charity?

Edit: some googling looks like it goes to legends fund for retired players. Not bad. Throw some more drinks, Tepper you bum.

300k and he cant go to the next few home games. Whenever they are. A fan would be banned for life.
And all his drinks thereafter have to be served in a sippy cup that looks like a pair of balls.
