Pretty much agree with this. Gun to my head, I think the Jets are more of a threat to come into Foxboro and win in January, so a Bills win might be best for the Pats. Plus like you said, Rex hasn't won back to back games in an eternity.Last week it was easy to hold my nose and root for the Colts because it was a clear benefit to the Pats for Denver to lose. Not so clear tonight so it'll be real hard to "root" for either of these teams.
I guess since the Jets have the better record, it would be better for them to lose. Plus, if the Bills somehow win (which I doubt) Rex will have his team way over hyped and under prepared for Super Bowl II next Sunday in Foxborough, and that's good for the Pats.
I dunno. I think the only game that could out-Super Bowl the Pats game would be the return to the Meadowlands. The real letdown for them might be KC in 2.5 weeks. With all that said, I think you have to root for Buffalo tonight. I'd prefer the Jets to miss the playoffs. If anything I think the opposite - that the Bills let down tonight because they are looking ahead to the Pats. I may be wrong though. Clearly tonight's game is more important to them in terms of making the playoffs since it is against another WC contender, whereas the Bills have no chance of catching the Pats.
The Jets were leading into the 4th quarter in Foxboro a few weeks ago and are the 4th ranked team per FO (a spot above Green Bay).Pretty much agree with this. Broncos are more of a threat from the perspective that they can still host the Pats in a playoff game, but if you are asking me who is more likely to come into Foxboro in January and win, I think it is really really close. Jets are really banged up right now but I assume they will get healthier. The Jets were leading into the 4th quarter in Foxboro a few weeks ago and are the 4th ranked team per FO (a spot above Green Bay).
That team is no joke.
Honestly, with Peyton's limitations and Ware's health... could you make the argument that the Jets are a scarier playoff opponent than the Broncos?
On Felger and Mazz the other day, Paul Perillo said Rex Ryan's teams are 2-17 following a win the past few years. Meaning he gets so excited by a win, he loses focus.Last week it was easy to hold my nose and root for the Colts because it was a clear benefit to the Pats for Denver to lose.
