If he was any good, the injuries would be a major bummer. Hard to see him on a regular season roster 24 months from now.
This season could easily be his last, especially if he suffers a serious injury. A million WRs coming into the league. Teams don’t need to waste their time with N’Keal. If he was any good, the injuries would be a major bummer. Hard to see him on a regular season roster 24 months from now.
Still a major bummer for him. Maybe this prompts him to try the TE thing out of desperation and we get to see if that has any chance of success. If he was any good, the injuries would be a major bummer. Hard to see him on a regular season roster 24 months from now.
Might as well, although the path there is mighty slim (he'd need to gain 25-30 pounds to have a shot). It's nice that he's a good blocker for a WR, but a receiver whose most known for his blocking is like having a pitcher who is best known for his bunting.Still a major bummer for him. Yeah, if his career is over I hope he has a fallback plan and did well with his money. His rookie deal paid about $10M, with about $8.5M guaranteed. He’s probably done in the NFL if it’s an Achilles. Too bad.
Yeah, I mean, he's a 24 year old who has earned $8.5 million. That's way more than most people earn in a lifetime (it's 85 years of working at $100,000 a year). If he's done halfway decent managing his money, he's gotten off to a great start in life. And getting out of the game (presuming he's done) with his noodle intact isn't the worst thing in the world. He's got his whole life ahead of him and he ought to be in a very good financial position to live well.Yeah, if his career is over I hope he has a fallback plan and did well with his money. Probably keeps him safer from cutsville too since they can PUP him. Achilles injury would have been game, set, match on his career.High ankle sprain sounds like a good scenario considering the reports of how bad this injury was.
Both actually. Right ankle in 2019. Left in 2018. Tua's TightropesThis caused me to do some Googling of TightRope surgery. Interesting procedure. I guess Tua had one in 2019.
Did the PUP rules change? I thought you couldn't add someone to that if they had participated in any practicesProbably keeps him safer from cutsville too since they can PUP him. Achilles injury would have been game, set, match on his career.
Yeah, I think you're right since his injury came during camp.Did the PUP rules change? I thought you couldn't add someone to that if they had participated in any practices
Speaking with Tyler Dunne at “Go Long,”
Too many "followers" or a "bad fit." Herm doesn't say. Though he seems to also say later that he didn't work hard enough. Who knows? Maybe his college coach was lousy.Harry’s college coach at Arizona State, Herm Edwards, mapped out why Harry wasn’t able to translate his evident skills to the NFL ranks.
“He had too many followers, man. That’s what killed him. That poor kid,” Edwards told Dunne. “He had hanger-on’ers. And it was like, ‘C’mon, N’Keal.’ Because talent-wise? He’s got enough talent. He’s a big, strong physical receiver to catch the ball. And then he went to New England. That was the worst place for him to go because it just didn’t fit. That didn’t fit him.”
Also hillarious because when Harry got drafted Herm said NE was the best place for him because of the structure.Herm Edwards tries to explain what went wrong. He fails:

What went wrong with N'Keal Harry's tenure with the Patriots? (bostonglobe.com)
Did Herm happen to explain what went wrong at ASU and how it is that he collected millions of dollars to do nothing and still somehow left the program ten times worse than how he found it?Herm Edwards tries to explain what went wrong. He fails:

well he did have the famous insight that you play to win the game. Also hillarious because when Harry got drafted Herm said NE was the best place for him because of the structure.
The correct answer is of course that Herm Edwards is a shitty coach and blowhard with no insight into anything.
…but he was a good blocker. If he is so good why hasn't he worked out anywhere else? I hate relitigating this issue but if the Pats draft Deebo or AJ Brown instead, what happens? N'keal is a low budget Devante Parker, he wore coverage. And he was just not physical at the point of attack. For a big guy, he sucked at breaking tackles.
