I guess you’re right. I just get an ARod vibe from him. Not sure why exactly. No way A-Rod does something that dirty. The slap was just lame. Its different.

Hear me out--A-Rod desperately swatted at that ball because he could feel himself failing and wanted it not to be so bad it revealed his character: a total fucking dink when shit was on the line.Seems like he's making himself more appealing to the Yankees. Been a while since they had an infielder slugger who takes cheap shots while running to first in a championship series.
No I hear you, they're in the same neighborhood, just that was extra ugly. Yikes, why would he do that?I guess you’re right. I just get an ARod vibe from him. Not sure why exactly.
Here's hoping. The other thing is that the Brewers are going in spikes up every time they slide into 2B from here on in.
Yeah - I agree. I don't recall ARod ever trying to hurt someone.I got more Milton Bradley than A-Rod honestly.
The 1B is supposed to step off immediately after they have the ball and the runner is supposed to try and avoid the fielder.Thousands of routine plays at first, I have never seen that.
What is the custom there? Is the fielder supposed to remove his leg quickly or the runner supposed to touch the outer part of the bag?
Yes. Yes!I got more Milton Bradley than A-Rod honestly.
The Pedey thing is always going to bug me. And it's going to bug me because Pedey defended him and then went against his own team. I lost a lot of love for Pedey on that one. Does anyone still think now that that wasn't intentional too?Machado has always been a bum. He may have cried about it with Showalter, but he ruined Pedey's career on a dirty play too. Fuck him. I'm glad people finally recognize it in this series.
Pedey is the one who undercut his own guys with the "it wasn't me" and the "I love Manny" shit. I love the guy, but that was and will always be wrong.Machado has always been a bum. He may have cried about it with Showalter, but he ruined Pedey's career on a dirty play too. Fuck him. I'm glad people finally recognize it in this series.
Usually the first baseman should move off the bag a little quicker but when you are out by two steps it is clearly a dirty play to go after his leg.Thousands of routine plays at first, I have never seen that.

Looked to me like he changes direction and veers in to Aguilar.Yeah - I agree. I don't recall ARod ever trying to hurt someone.
Machado clearly had a chance to run to the outside of the bag and he chose to try and sting Aguilar.
A-Rod had several total bush league moments, from slapping Arroyo's arm to yelling to distract the third baseman who was catching a popup.Yeah - I agree. I don't recall ARod ever trying to hurt someone.

I didn't see the veer but as Buck correctly acknowledges - and credit to him and Smoltz to not completely excuse it - Machado had time to avoid him and did not. Thankfully Aguilar seems ok but if he gets hurt, that potentially changes the series. Milwaukee, as you can see, doesn't have a ton of hitting.Looked to me like he changes direction and veers in to Aguilar.
Well, at least Judge gave us a new song.Screw this Fox hasbara. It was clearly intentional. God I hope the MFYs get this a-hole. We need another bigtime villain. Judge is too damn nice
It looked like he dragged his foot to make sure he clipped him but maybe I should watch it again.Looked to me like he changes direction and veers in to Aguilar.
Bush yes - JtB acknowledged as much. However I don't recall him trying to hurt anyone. Except himself against 'Tek's mitt of course.A-Rod had several total bush league moments, from slapping Arroyo's arm to yelling to distract the third baseman who was catching a popup.
Well, you generally only remove your foot that fast on bang-bang plays to make it look faster (which doesn't matter anymore with instant replay). When the guys is out by a few steps it's entirely on the runner. It's not like his foot was in the middle of the bag either. There was plenty of bag available to the Douche.Still in all that, usually a first baseman gets his foot the hell off the bag so fast we wonder if he stayed on long enough. Why didn’t Aguilar get off the bag when the out was made? Not a fan of Machado because of numerous previous dirty plays, esp. Pedroia, but Aguilar you could say was baiting him. Stupid too because he could have been spiked and injured.
Makes sense. Thanks.Usually the first baseman should move off the bag a little quicker but when you are out by two steps it is clearly a dirty play to go after his leg.
Aguilar isn't the most athletic guy as you can see. I think he got lazy and just didn't get off quickly enough. I don't think he was baiting him but who knows...Still in all that, usually a first baseman gets his foot the hell off the bag so fast we wonder if he stayed on long enough. Aguilar doesn't really strike me as someone with cat-like reflexes. Maybe he was just being his big slow selfStill in all that, usually a first baseman gets his foot the hell off the bag so fast we wonder if he stayed on long enough. And dead.Has it been mentioned anywhere recently that Jack Buck is rather annoying?
!!!! slut-shaming the first-baseman again?Yeah, she shouldn't have worn that dress.
You don't like how he breaks up hiiiiiis sentences across time over aaaaand over?Has it been mentioned anywhere recently that Jack Buck is rather annoying?
In that he fathered the guy announcing this game? Absolutely.Has it been mentioned anywhere recently that Jack Buck is rather annoying?
I think the term is sack shaming!!!! slut-shaming the first-baseman again?
Damnit. It’s been a long day of baseball watching. In that he fathered the guy announcing this game? Absolutely.
Good thing the resident protector of gender rights isn’t around.Yeah, she shouldn't have worn that dress.
Joe Buck has 4 kids. One day, at least one of them will get a job as a really irritating announcer on Fox Sports and stay there for decades. In that he fathered the guy announcing this game? Absolutely.
Dude this is dark.Joe Buck has 4 kids. One day, at least one of them will get a job as a really irritating announcer on Fox Sports and stay there for decades.
Not sure what you mean by that. You were blaming the victim of that play, which I ridiculed by using a classic victim-blaming trope. If anyone thinks I am gender-insulting with my post, I apologize.Good thing the resident protector of gender rights isn’t around.
