Driving on Christmas can be good, or bad.twoBshorty said:I managed to attain the speed limit on the 101 once, 11am Christmas morning going to LAX.
I've got a 20 something year old book by a guy named Garrow (IIRC) called Edge Cities. In it, he said that he did research which (somehow) showed that all throughout history, whether it was walking through a walled city, jumping on a horse, cranking up your model T or driving an SUV that at 45 minutes travel time each way, home to work or work to home, people have started to balk at the length of their commute and tried to move closer to their job or get a different job closer to work. That kind of traffic is nuts.soxhop411 said:
Come on, there's a lot of overlap. There are a lot of dual hat fans.rembrat said:

That mascot is . . . odd. It looks like they tried to hit the asian and hispanic markets at the same time. But the tongue is kind of weird.soxhop411 said:also dodgers have a mascot
Oh yeah. I about hold my breath before a game waiting to see if he's going to be there or not.Rough Carrigan said:After the annoyance of Harold Reynolds yesterday, Darling and Ripken seem pretty good.
Yeah he's got to be pulled. Can't afford to get further behind.rembrat said:Get Noah hot fast.

He and Mattingly fighting in the dugout is oddrembrat said:Andre Either hot for some reason.

Ripken or Darling thought it had to be Ethier not getting the runner over and Mattingly must have given him shit for it.rembrat said:
I know John Farrell would have shoved his boot up Either's ass.
Anyone have an idea what that was about?
The guys were speculating that Mattingly was getting on him about not advancing the runner. And Either not taking too kindly to it.rembrat said:

He's looked overmatched in most of his at bats. Still, sort of weird to have both him and Puig on the bench.Ed Hillel said:Does Carl Crawford still play baseball?

Not in this post season. 1-11 so far.Ed Hillel said:Does Carl Crawford still play baseball?
No way. In the 4th inning, you take the out.Ed Hillel said:He probably should have let that ball drop.

0-2 count, letting it drop is probably the statistically correct play.Bob Montgomery's Helmet Hat said:No way. In the 4th inning, you take the out.

really wanted him to be our 3b last offseason.... welp.InsideTheParker said:Have to like Murphy as a ballplayer, if not as a person.
It might have been Greinke's jobGdiguy said:
Wasn't Turner in the wrong position on that shift to cover 3rd? I thought they had the SS normal and Turner over by 2B
Honestly, Greinke probably was closest, but I don't know who is actually expected to actually cover in that situation from a tactical standpoint.rembrat said:
Or whoever was closest to 3B. He should have shifted over until Turner got to his position.
