I have today's Yankee vs. Yankee game on in the background, and I just saw example #22337457 why I would prefer to never see Andujar at 3B again for the Yankees.
Judge on first, Sanchez hits a two-hopper right to Miggy, couldn't be an easier DP especially given that Sanchez is presumably not going to run his hardest. Of course Miggy takes way too long to get it to second and the play at first isn't even close, Sanchez easily beats it out. I'm fine with him at DH, I think I'm fine with him in LF sometimes (although Tauchman's defensive numbers last year were so good that he put up a 3.8 bWAR in just 296 PAs), I'm open to him maybe playing 1B occasionally or at least trying it, but he is never going to not be a horrendous defensive 3B, there are just too many things to fix. Let Estrada or Wade (or Duffy if he makes the team) back up Gio, the defensive hit just isn't worth it and it impacts how the pitchers pitch too. They're not dumb, they know what a tire fire he is over there, it's got to be really hard on lefties especially.
