So I think clearly Castillo should be NY's priority and he would be an incredible #2 through 2023, a preemptive replacement for Taillon leaving this winter. I would try to do it without Volpe (obviously), Peraza (unlikely but a man can dream), Dominguez (supposedly CIN is not high on him anyway) and both of Waldichuk/Warren (LHP who are close). So maybe I'd suggest:
Sweeney
Pereira
German (under control through 2024)
two prospect SPs, CIN can choose from: Waldichuk/Warren/Wesneski/Medina/Vazquez/Sikkema/Gomez and whoever else, you just can't take both lefties as I said.
That's a good offer, I think, those pitchers all have high ceilings and are pretty close. If CIN prefers pitchers at lower levels and farther away from needing to be protected, NY has those too.
